I would agree with you that its not quite there yet. The no flat touring mode is not awesome (although it's meant to be paired with the Vulcan, which has 60 degrees of cuff movement in walk mode). I noticed when I switched to Dynafit that I don't use risers very much anymore, especially compared to when I used MFD. The Radicals I use don't have a particularly high set of climbing aids either. I can't speak on whether the Beast has enough of a riser, but it's something that other Dynafit users I have talked to and I have noticed.

Additionally,
-I agree that the holes could be a problem. Limited release of 2500 pairs next year will test this I'm sure.
-It is going to be tested for the release settings I believe. I don't remember which article mentioned this but my understanding was that it would be.
-The ease of lateral release may have been because the release value was set to the minimum. Keep in mind that it wouldn't be that easy if your weight is on the boot and binding. I could do that with my Dynafits if they were cranked all the way down.

The no flat mode is not that big of a deal for this particular binding. If you are doing long flat stretches then you are probably a Rando-fag and are on lighter models anyways.

There is a higer bar for climbing, tho other grey(light grey) piece rotates down on top of the one shown for a higher rise.

Holes should be no big deal. some snow may get in there, but it's not like it's a constantly moving part that would get packed.

Clearly if a guy is going to do a by hand video demo of a binding that is just mounted on a piece of plastic, he is certainly going to crank the din don so he can demonstrate the release by hand.

I Demoed the Halos this year and the time i rode on them it was the best park ski i ever rode and i wanted them so bad and i could wait for nexted years im not worried about the money but i am buying this years because i perfer this years graphic over the next years ones but i buying them becuase the way they ski not because the graphic! just this years graphic is much nicer in my opinion

Those Halos are the best I've ever seen from Armada. This year's Halo looked like trash. I love my Halos, so unless there is something else coming out, I might get another pair of Halos, or just stick with my 2011-2012 halos.

The Halos topsheet is easily one of the worst designs I've ever seen. I'm down with patriotic Americana, but seriously those are just so horrible. The T-Halls look just a tad bit better.

It's actually so true, ON3P's topsheets are like pieces of art, while Armada is spewing out just random garbage. I love my Halo's for the way they ski, but seriously I wouldn't be able to wake up every morning and say "I look cool" with that topsheet.
