I agree 100%. I know maybe a handful of people who fall into the exception category. Most people i know who subsistence hunt have more respect for wildlife than people who dont hunt at all. Subsistence hunting is something that i have known since before i could walk and something that hopefully i can pass onto my children. Knowing i can help put at least a winters worth of food on the table, for me and my family, is such a rewarding experience. Call me a redneck douchebag if you like, i just feel like most of the first world civilization has lost touch with nature.
This is a caribou that I harvested a couple years ago and it's meat fed five people for almost a full year. I am very grateful to the animal for giving its life in order to do that.
