How to make your own portable rope tow.

I've been wanting to do this forever and am finally going to do it this week.

It took me forever to find a set of plans or anything other then someone just tying a rope around their car tire with a pulley on the other side.

I'm going to be doing this same setup using a 5hp lawnmower engine.

I know this might interest some of the more technical side of NS. Also didn't know where to post, i thought i'd get the most legit responses here.



What i'm going to when it snows, go hike up by Red Lakes (tahoe) and set up 2-3 powder jumps and a couple rails with my friends and we're going to lap them. I'm so stoked. Sooooo stoked.

Haha stuff from the 40s and 50s is cool. I just read the article about nuclear stuff that starts on page 89. The photography and graphics for the ads are awesome.

threads, this looks sick. one of my friends has a massive front yard with a perfect 10 ft cliff in it, and we always wanted a rope tow along side it.

Did you ever get it done? I'm looking into building one and did some searches online and found your thread. Pretty stoked about the idea. I've seen people use old riding lawnmowers to power it, and that looks easier. But the problem would be finding an old mower for cheap...
