I had a pair of 190s, and they skied pretty long due to their low profile rocker and flat camber.

Well, break this down.

The 186 is only 5cm different from a 191. The only thing that could add with length is a possibly longer turn radius which it doesn't need, given that it's elliptical to begin with.

Even if the rocker length were the same, that would only add about 2.5cm of contact length in the tip and 2.5cm in the tail, which really wouldn't be any better.

The Jeffery is an all-mtn jib machine. Jib. I think the shorter length certainly keeps unnecessary weight out of the tips and tails.

Basically, making it longer would move it out of the niche it occupies. However, check back next year to see the thing Tanaka is cooking up in AK.

You really had to throw the tails around to turn them. I gave them to a friend of mine and he said the same thing with having to trow the tails to turn them. Damn good when they are going straight, they blast through everything while going straight.

I know about the Tanaka thing. Pretty dope IMO. And I realize that a 191 Jeffery would take it out of it's niche. This is just me, personally I would love to get down on a 191, and maybe with a little extra carbon. Don't blame me for my love of the 191 length, blame Scott.

BUT, I spent significant time on the 191 BG finally over the weekend, and it's pretty much the only ski I want to be on at the moment.

A ski that is symmetrical with a fat under foot, around 90, stiffer with carbon stringers. Rocker tip and tail with a full vertical sidewall. Basically the Domain, but stiffer and a little more all mountain based.

then its not the lizzie anymore. i have really been trying to figure this out.

If it gets narrower i doesnt have the same surf style anymore and the tail and tip rocker would also remove some of that feeling.

surely rocker adds to the loose/surfy feel? I reckon a little bit narrower maybe 134-105-132, with the tips slightly raised like the chronic would be on the money, definitely mini-cap it.

I've always thought its the short turn radius, sidecut shape, and flex that gives it that surfy feel. i guess for my ideal ski, I'd start with the lizzie or an older bacon as a base and go from there.

I'm really trying to study this at the moment.

I think i have concluded that, yes rocker does make kinda a surfy feel. But its not the same as the way lizzies surf. Coming from a kid thats skied over at least 40 pairs of skis, lizzies are truly special. Just look at the new bacon. Really similar dimentions, but add rocker and you get a whole new feel.

Rocker would only add the the butterability of the ski and remove the special kind of surf.

Yes the sidecut and flex are huge players in the feel, but i also think the width contributes a lot, the edge to edge movement is pretty dialed and i feel like i would have to play around a lot with dimensions to get the same feel.

I dont think it needs to get slimmer, shaving of a few mm wouldn't really give you more advantage in the park. I just think i needs to get longer, but keep the same sidecut.
It also needs to be light so i agree on the mini cap part.

I am i no way saying no too your ideas. I think they could both turn out too really awesome skis. But my quest here is to really keep the essence of the lizzie but improve it and make it capable of being a everyday park ski.

Any ideas?

Word, I can definitely agree with those points. I skied 140+ days on my first pair of lizzies and I have 200+ on my current pair, but the current pair are trashed, no camber, almost convex bases under foot, no pop, completely dead :( I bought a pair of the "new" bacons last year and they're just not the same. The lizzie is such a great, unique ski.

I wish Line would scrap the blend or overhaul it to become that longer lizzie. Right now its identity seems as if it's just a ski stuck between a noodle all mtn ski and a lizzie.

Its too bad pollard has sorta moved on from designing something like a lizzie. The new bacon is an all mtn champ and really does do it all but doesn't feel anything like the previous bacon and seems like it needs a lot more speed to perform like its meant to perform.

I feel like the mass market has taken over pollards designs. It's not as free and niche as before. How the market is today every damn ski has to be good at everything. Which i understand if your only getting one ski. But we dont need every powski to be able to rip a mogul line. or vise versa.

I do not believe at all the pollard doesnt ski the ep anymore, or atleast something very close to the ep. He loved that ski so much and it really showed through his skiing.

172 Lizzies with 15-20mm cut out of the center. That would be the absolute ultimate jib ski in my mind. For me anyways. Also a 115 wide, pop rocker cambered, symmetrical, medium soft pow ski in a 172. Not sure if I would want an elliptical sidecut or not with something like that. Testing, testing, and more testing. There's a lot of possibilities.

Yes, you are of course correct. They are relatively close though.

In my opinion if you remove the 'extra' width of the Elizabeths, they become completely different and lose that signature feel they have.
