Binding+Ski question HELP PLEASE

heres the deal. i have 2 new pairs of skis this year. i have surface live frees for allmtn/pow and k2 domains for park. for bindings I have rossignol axial 2 120's and sth 12's. advice needed on which binding i should i throw on each ski? thanks

sth12 drivers?


I was in this same spot a few years ago. STH12s and Axial2 xls to go in invaders or og S5s. i went with the sth12s on the invaders and they were freaking terrible. That z toes piece blows dick. its that simple.


put the rossis on whatever ski you will use the most. Id put em on the surfaces because i dont ski park.

if they are drives. ide put the drivers on whatever ski you plan on using the most

I have never had good luck with Salomon bindings. They loosen up on my, early release, loosey-goosey toe wings... unless they're the high end diesel ones... I would put the Rossi's on the ski you use the most and abuse the most.

thanks for the help! they are not drivers. i think im going to stick the axials on my domain park skis and the sth's on my pow skis. does anybody know which ones are lighter?

With all due respect, google would have given you a quicker answer... but here you go anyway:

STH12 = 1015g each

Axial120 = 1170-1290g each depending on which model and brake etc

This is according to the interweb and could be completely wrong, mind you.

You wont notice either way. If you ski NJ put the rossis on your park skis.

I would try and sell the sth12s and buy another pair of rossis. That z toe sucks so hard. Mine constantly released...like every time i would 270 out a ski would come flying off on the landing and id land right on my hip.

That was actually the last day i ever skied park. My right hip had such a gnarly bruise

I have a pair of z12ti's and px14s....

I put my px14s on my park skis and my z12ti's on my pow skis. Never had a problem with either binding. before I had my px14s, i had sth12's on my park skis and still never had a problem.

I would vote for the axials on your park skis because they have a 10 way release pattern, and the sth's have a 7 way release.
