Backyard jam; snowmobile tow?

I have a couple of small fields near my house that have been begging to be made into a park for the past few years. Only thing is there's only one place to have an actual drop in. BUT, I got a snowmobile this year, and plan on getting a tow rope to get the speed. I was wonderin if anyone out there has experience with using snowmobiles to tow you up to speed for jumps. Is there any way to calculate the speed before hand, or do i just have to be a guinea pig and huck it?

you have to guinea pig it. we usually go around 45 mph for about a 40 foot gap.

you want to have alot of extra speed, because you loose speed really fast after you let go of the tow rope. we usually get a ton of speed, then adjust by speed checking.

yeah, you loose a ton of speed on regular snow that isnt packed very well.
in science class i sat down to fast and you know how you can sit on your balls. well i did and i sat down really fast and crushed them and right when i sat down i started puking and fell out of my chair. they teacher laughed. i felt like i could pass out i wanted to die.-*NWFT*nUkkA
I still just have no idea how you can mistake your dick and a chicken neck, let alone not realize what you are doing. -manus

I've done it a few times with rails, I say go fast like 40 mph and have the skier let go a little early so they can adjust speed

i've done it before i have a huge flat field behind my house get someone with a tractor or snowplow to push up two piles of snow then shape one into a jump and just chop the other pile so it's real soft it works out sick

Towing witha sled is crazy, best way to get the speed you want is to do a whip. whip is alot like what wakeboards do when they cut across the wake. gives you like double the speed and better control. all else fails follow the sled of the jump. hahahhaahaha

when i used my sled to tow in we were hittn like a 20 footer and going abot 20 to 25 so it really depends on how big it is so at first just ride by the side and check about how much you need and then do it slow and gain until u have enough
