My case: Maybe they were trying to teach their kid the value of saving and getting something for themselves. My parents didn't buy me shit like this when I was a child and they were fucking loaded.

Great lesson to learn is earn your shit.

It'd be sick if they made like a mini ski resort. Then get a bunch of sets and make a mountain.

Also, I loved legos so much when I was a kid, still have them all in a box somewhere, and this just makes me love Legos even more.

sure they could of bought a lego set for him... but his parents wanted him to save his money and buy it himself. things are so much more rewarding when you buy them yourself. you appreciate the thing you bought more.

yup i think youre right. if you read the top comments it has a short testimony from someone who deals with autistic kids and she talks about how hard it is to get them to put money away when they get it, im sure his parents were teaching him about it.

and about lego ski slopes, i remember when i was little i got this snowbarding side by side x-gams race thingy that was like a slanted piece 2 feet long with a rail for each side and a jump. there was a knob that you twisted that basically turned up a piece that acted like a flipper, so you could do front flips or backflips with good timing. i loved that thing

I man I loved legos. Me and my brother had a massive lego city in my basement. We had a hospital, train station, ship yard, fire department, airport, coast guard, police station, and a massive number of vehicles to accompany all of them. We still have all of them up in the attic. Oh man I miss playing with legos.

We also had a tons of star wars legos. We had speeders, an x wing, the fighters they used at Hoth, lots of droid stuff, and much more.

We had the same deal with playmobile too: we had at least 3 full size castles with massive armies, a siege tower, ships, ports. pirates, vikings, all of that.

This was my big castle. I remember saving up my allowance to buy this, and I waited weeks and weeks for it to come in the mail. I still remember the day it came.

My parents saved all of our legos and playmobile and plan on us giving them to our kids someday. I cannot wait. These used to be my life in elementary school.

I miss those days so much. I want to go get all of my legos and playmobil out now. Especially when I walk down the toy aisle at target and they have the star wars ship that I always wished that they made. 2 of my neighbors brought all of their playmobil over too and we would have the biggest wars. Imagine 5 castles in an unfinished basement. We would have sieges and we would bombard the castles with trebuchets in an effort to conquer their castle. We even would burn sections to the ground with the playmobil torches. We were the real deal.

We had the playmobil from the 1800s in one world and all of the medieval stuff in a separate world.

We alternated between legos and playmobil. It usually was 6 months of legos, then 6 months of playmobil.

I had this jet. I'll admit, I conducted the occasional terror attack, but it was all in good fun. Oh no, I hope this is still at my house somewhere. It must be too big to fit into a bin to store. Oh no,

i love legos

my friend and i each have a massive storage bin full of assorted legos so occasionally in high school we would get high and dump them all out on the floor and build legos for hours. the only reason i want to have kids is so i can play legos with them

I think his parents dicked him over. They made him save so long the set didn't even exist any longer. They should have bought it to begin with and hid it, and when he got to the $100 given it to him.

Or...since they couldn't have known it was going to stop being made, fork over the other $150 so that when he reached his goal he could get it.

They should make the kid donate, or donate themselves the cost of the set to a kid in some family who can't afford shit.

I see where you are coming from here. And personally I agree with you. If I had a kid and the set did become exclusive and I saw my kid busting his ass for something like this. I would make up the rest of the money for it and help him achieve it. So I personally would've done it differently but to each his own.

Great on lego's part glad there doing good things for people. But honestly fuck this kid and fuck his parents. This i sth eproblem with kids these days. So he wants something that they don't make anymore? Well fuck you kid you can't have it go buy one of the other 100000000 lego sets. This is the problem with kids these days get everything on a silver platter. Lego should have said fuck you we dont make this set anymore deal with it. Not like you go to the car dealer and complain they dont make 1985 honda civics anymore and bitch until they get one for you.
