I've seen a lot of shit go down there. Cops aren't very cool. I'll be out there again for summercamp in the spring.

I'd probably take illinois over ohio. Chicago's pretty cool, ohio just kind of sucks in general. It's the south of the north IMO

inb4 hate mail from people doomed to live forever in the land of the round ends but the high middle unless you want to get high then you're going to jail for 800 years ohio.

Our state's government is one of the worst, if not the worst in the country. Not to mention, Chicago has the highest murder rate of any major city in the world.

Geographically, it sucks too. But, you're right, Kansas and Nebraska are worse in terms of geographical shitiness.

while yes, we do have a corrupt as fuck state government....chicago is no where near one of the most dangerous cities in america. actually, it's not even in the top 10 most dangerous cities.

No doubt it's a fun city if you know where to go, and the pizza is delicious. I go to school in the heart of the south side, surrounded by a pretty rough neighborhood, so I know how sketchy it can get at night especially if you wander off campus. I have done quite a bit of flooring work at Cabrini Green too. Don't even get me started on that shit, haha.

I haven't read it, I think I'll have to check it out. Looks interesting.

The highest murder rate that I quoted for Chicago was based on the world's 15 "alpha" cities.

For sure. I actually like chigaco pizza better than nyy.(Hopefully that doesn't get me shot).

Not saying that chicago doesn't have it's crime, but there's def worse places.


Cabrini Greens, that's the 18 hole in the suburbs on the west side right? I think I played golf with my uncle there. Real upscale place.

Check it out. Good read. I know with some books age makes a difference when you read it. I read it when I was 16 or 17. Thought it was great. Idk how old you are. Def worth reading. A really interesting perspective.

and yeah, cabrini greens is super upscale. its about as nice as a place can get....lol. thank god they boarded that shit hole up and demolished it a few years ago.

Oh yeah right by the sox stadium, can't say I travel that way often, I usually just take 55 to the Dan Ryan to get into the loop. Chicago is a pretty great city. It just really sucks for skiing.

yeah, they got rid of it. you're right. it needed to go. that place was a haven for crime and drug activity. a huge sore for the city. getting rid of it was one of teh best things they could have done.

and yeah, i know them crazy NYers are nuts about their pizza, but they ain't got shit on chicago style.....errbody knows that!! you know what Im talking 'bout.

I don't think moving to section 8 housing was such a great idea, I mean where are those people supposed to go? The crime rate was pretty high but that's not an excuse for bulldozing whole neighborhoods.

I'm not a fan of thin crust either. They do have some really good pizza, I'd just rather rather grab some from chicago.

I have a feeling you don't live near the northeast.


I wish they could start getting rid of all the welfare programs and other waste. Medicine tastes like shit but it helps things get better.(other than amoxicillin, that shit is bangin)

I don't think we're really helping people with what we're doing. We're more of enablers. And that's before the fact that the system is fucked and people are taking complete advantage of it.

woah now, there's no comparing chicago to ohio, but it's not bad here.
I'm from here, but moved away for a few years and now I'm back at Ohio State in Columbus. Between Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati it's actually not half bad.

Especially here in Columbus there's always plenty to do, and a pretty solid skiing community.

was born and raised in the suburbs and i absolutely hate going back now that ive lived in fort collins for a while. The actually city of Chicago is tight, its to bad it kinda gets tainted by all the other shittiness the state has to offer. Ive always thought that the rest of the state should be auctioned off to the surrounding states to pay of the incredibly massive debt the state is in, and the city can become its own city state type thing like Washington DC hah idk could be kinda cool.

My sister lives in Rogers Park but is moving to Wrigleyville when she finishes in May. Both of my parents grew up there. I might move out there after I finish school.

So Lou's or Giordanos or Gino's East?

I've been to Ginos and had lou's a long while back so its hard for me to compare, Gino's was good and Lou's was dank. I haven't been to Giordano's though.

Also on the topic of Chicago food, there are 2 Portillo's locations in California.

When my cousin who lives there found out they were opening one on the west coast, he called my aunt and demanded that she call my father and let him know of this. My father received a phone call during one of his morning business meetings from my aunt, a really odd time for her to call, so he left to answer it thinking something bad had happened. "You're nephew Michael said they're opening a Portillos by you and I was to call you immediately." Haha. Awesome italian beef sandwiches.

My dads ski patrol at 4lakes so I go there every now n then. Starting to get sick of it tho with all the little punk boarders and the ruts for the rails. They're park crew is starting to make nicer features tho but whatever jump they have will always suck.. always. I likve like 10 minutes tho so if im bored i'll cruise over there for an hr or so. I got red pants and a black helmet w/ ns and oakley sticker

And Lou's is delish.
