Good Boot fitter?

When I go in to get boots fitted, what will the fitter do assuming he is a good boot fitter. As in the maximum amount of adjustments that he could do for any given person, you know what I mean? How can i tell if someone is a good bootfitter? I guess basically what i'm asking is what are all of the adjustments that they make when fitting a boot. Also, what makes people have to come back to see them during the season adjustment-wise?
If you are a certified boot fitter (almost everyone on NS claims to be) make sure you post that in your comment.

And lastly, I live in Littelton, CO. does anyone know of a truly legit boot fitter in that area. I'm willing to drive relatively far, as in like an hour

How long did they spend on you. What boots did you get and what adjustments did they make

At the very least, a good boot-fitter should measure your feet (left and right) in weighted and unweighted positions for length and width, note how much you pronate when weighted, show you how a proper footbed repositions your collapsed foot back into alignment and also how this affects your ankle & knee alignment, perform range of motion tests on your ankle/Achilles tendon, and then selects the best options based on this data. From there the boot-fitter should always check the shell fit for length, for width, and for volume.

Following that you will try on various boots (left to right comparisons are always good) and look to see which liner heights match your leg shape and shin profile when in the boot.

There are other things they will do as well, but if a boot-fitter checks these points you are on your way to a good "neutral" boot-fit.

Didn't buy my boots from there. Went in for custom footbeds and another heat mold.(Shop I bought them from sucked ass at all bootfitting, I'm lucky I got a proper fitting boot). I had the heel pocket ground out a little bit. No canting adjustments were needed. I'm in full tilt first chairs. The vac footbed and the heatmold took about 90 minutes. Before doing this though, they did a shell check, side to side, just to make sure I was in the right boots because I didn't buy them there. With the new footbeds and mold, I had the best day of skiing in my new boots yet(15 days). Zero pain anywhere.

I didn't buy boots from them, but I know people who have. They spend as much time as they need with each person. They are a great shop, bootfitters first and foremost. Call ahead to make an appointment, they get busy, and they will spend time with you, but appointments have priority first.
