Binding cover for highway driving?

My brother and I brought a ski rack for the top of our car, due to the hour and a half drive we have to make to the local mountain. I know the road salt and dirt is really bad for your bindings, so I looked at a binding cover made by rossignol. The problem is the reviews say it rips at highway speeds, which we will be using them at. Do you guys know of anything we can use to cover our bindings. Thanks and +K.

Wrap em in old towells or blankets. That's what I do anyways. Why waste money on binding covers?
