How fast do ppl ski when they book ass down steep groomers
its gotta be fast ive clocked 58 mph on my phone using the snocru app which i know isnt accurate but this was only on a 400 vertical black in michigan so im sure 60+ would be easy on a real mountain with real snow
What is faster real or fake snow? I've never tracked it but I enjoy hauling ass down a groomer as much as the next guy. There's something exhilarating about the fact that as you go faster and faster you become more and more unstable and the only "way out" is to finish the run as quickly as possible.
To try and turn or slow down would be disastrous when you can feel your skis ready to give out at any moment.
but there's the issue of vertical drop. im not sure if the apps measure just your horizontal speed, or if they take into account the change in altitude as well
I got 117 km/h for this pond skim. There was a police radar right before we were going in. It was fast, but not the fastest I've been. I guess it's fairly easy for any good skier to get 130+ on a groomer with waxed skis and tight fitting clothes.
Im pretty sure a kid was using the gps on the run into windells park and I think he hit like 80mph, didnt seem real. But if that run is groomed I could see it happening.
Fastest I've gone was 134km/h, which is 83 miles per hour. Empty, black slope, quite icy. Was using some 187 (consumer) GS ski's though. That must've helped some.
Scary as fuck, but really fun, ahha
