A life changing experience...

As you guys know, i drink alot (see my posts) and im only 15. Im a pothead and a regular drinker. Well, last night i was really shitfaced and decided to sneak out and ride my bike to my friends house across town. about 3/4 of the way there, i was hit by a car. its a miracle i wasnt hurt. I dont remember getting hit or being in the ambulence, but only waking up in the amublence for a few minutes then balcking out and waking up in ER. The only injuries i got where a fucked up face and a concussion. Ive never been to the hospital for any injuries ever before in my life, and it was a very scary experience. I had cat scans done, xrays, blood tests etc. I really do thank god for watching over me and not getting hurt. Which is unusual, because before last night i never believed in god. DSS now has to come to my house to watch my enviroment etc. My parents were not mad, which is the worst thing , because all they could do was cry. I have never ever seen my father cry before until last night. I should have listened to all of you, when you told me i was an idiot, dumbass faggot for drinking, and all of you were right. I officially give up all drugs in any way shape or form. My parents threw out all of their alcohol and im going to try to turn my life around. Im gonna get a job, new friends, the whole deal. You guys can flame this post all you want, just know that i am sorry for being and idiot and i think all of you should take my advice and dont drink until your of age, or at least 18. If you wanna know more message me, i have pictures of all the scrapes etc. thank you all and i appologize for being an ass and not listening to you. This was offically the scariest moment of my life and i am so lucky to be alive.

I was gonna type out a huge long post about this, and make it really good, but I did it and it sucked, so I'll onyl offer the following words.
I'm glad you made a choice you believe in, and I'm glad you aren't hurt. You're life will be a lot better without all the distractions. I know once I stopped drinking a lot and trying to be badass, my life got a LOT better.
No, I don't think I'm better then (most) of you because I don't drink a lot or smoke. I know some of you enjoy it and feel your lives are better with them. If that's what you believe, then you're not doing a stupid thing.

yeah, alot (not all) of the kkids i used to hang with were like that. its seriously all about who your around. just try to take a break from goin out or hanging with outher people, and chill by yourself. it really makes you aware of who you are, and after a few weeks (hey, your grounded anyway), you are totally aware of who YOU are, not who your friends want you to be.

sivermike ive done something similar. about changing everything. i was a drinker and a smoker but a few of my friends got screwed over really bad. one had to get his stomach pumped at the hospital like .42 or something. then my other friend got caught with weed. and one friends parents were splitting up and he drank all the time and got depressed and drove a car into or threw a garage. then my friend with weed got sent to a 6 month camp. the kid who drove the car throuhg the garage went to a 3 month camp. the kid who got his stomach pumped said he would never drink again but he is. thats when i decided i didnt want to get messed up cause of my friends. i just slowly stopped hanging out at night with them. still my friends but i didnt want to get out of control cause i knew that i would or could.

yup, skiing (but mostly mountain biking) helped me quit. just focus energy on those things, shit, just think of the money that would have been spent on booze and weed can go toward ski stuff.

Yeah, all of my friends do that both of those quite a bit. I try not to very much at all. They get stoned about 3 of 4 times a week, and I try to just keep it to like 2 or 3 times a month, which i have done. Alcohol and weed are fun, but they should defentently not be used to much, because they will fuck up lives. You just have to fucking make the choice for yourself on what u wanna do.

on another note one of the main reasons weed is banned in most places and always will be is because it severely fucks up a small minority of people with phsychosis and other mental problems.

I had a friend who had the same kind of thing happen, a little more weird though, and now he is happier then he ever was before. Thats great man, you are on the right track.
