i remember my first ever highschool football game, i had never played contact before. kickoff i was running down not knowing what the fuck i was doing and just got clobbered. i flew a few feet backwards in the air. But in the end im glad it happened that one time, because it never happened again. (at least not that big)

i was talking to my friend yesterday about what athletes are the tougher. i said urban skiers, skateboarders, rollerbladers, etc and he said football players. he also said that action sports athletes are stupid for getting up and hucking themselves over and over again but this video is just a testament to how stupid football is. it's unnecessarily violent. so many of those hits were absolute bullshit even if they were 'legit' hits. hitting someone that hard isn't necessary. you have to knock them down, not break their necks.

dub post but more rugby hits,

In my opinion, rugby players are much tougher than any other contact sports players (excluding combat sports, as they could be viewed as "contact" sports). In rugby, you end up making a shit ton more tackles than in a football game, plus there are no pads/helmets to soften the contact. You also don't have much of a break during the game as opposed to stopping for 30 seconds after each play.
Anyone else agree?

the hits arent nearly as forceful. there is a reason football players have to wear pads and a helmet and still end up maimed after 10 years.

the pads protect, but also allow for the greater force of collision.

iv seen some of my teamates get hit so hard they cant talk due to serious concusions. that hit wasent even that bad. iv had some bad concusiouns my self but thats just a rissk in playing the best team sport ever invented

yeah dude i completely agree. i played both football and rugby throughtout high school and stuck with rugby into college. better sport all around. CLEAN big hits..football players just hit defenseless receivers that dont see them coming and fuck em up too bad..thy go right for the head..rugby over football anyday

Football is not a violent sport, it's just high contact. The majority of large hits these days result in a fine for the athlete-- it's something they're cracking down on.
