El Reys in Powder?

Hey NS

Ive been watching the weather and theres already been a lot of snow. Im getting el reys and i was wondering how deep they will perform in the POW.

Whats your size and the el rey size? Most likely you can. It's just a matter of proper riding technique. You wont float like JJs but you can still rip powder.

im around 170 cm tall and I'm getting 171s which is taller than recommended for my size but i can handle them fine

It can be done, but it won't be a whole lot of fun compared to skiing pow and a 100+ under foot ski

I have El Rey's and JJ's.

The El Rey's can float in the pow a bit, which I was surprised by, but don't expect them to be able to perform like something that was intended to be a powder ski or one-ski quiver.
They drive pretty good, but its a lot of work when going through deeper stuff, and whole lot better to just commit to powder skis like the JJ

If.you are a good skier and have good technique itl be fine

Search around for a used powder setup. Most powder skis don't see too much abuse.
