Lake Tahoe is getting hammered

Get stoked for some powder at the lake guys. Kirkwood is predicting 3-7ft. of snow by Monday as long as the temps stay cool. Hell if we go 7 ft we'd probably have the same snowpack as we did last year and it'll be early December!

Honestly, jokes aside, I just love having big dumps of powder to ski. All you guys talking about quality of powder sound like a bunch of pretentious babies. Unless you're a pro, or some business tycoon who can afford to go wherever the best powder is, then you should just be thankful for what you get.

Someone from Japan could just as easily shit on all your Utah/Colorado "lightest pow" parades. Skiing pow is skiing pow.

Not always. I skied heavenly, squaw, and kirkwood before when the snow decently dry. They do get some wet snow, but everyone on here is talking like tahoe is horrible for snow, and who would want to ski wet powder. Fuck man, I would do anything to be able to ski that "wet powder" right now.

Kirkwood got 10 inches last night. And they're getting drilled right now. Check the webcams. Predicting multiple feet today.

Haters gonna hate, but I haven't read one comment on the fact that Rose is gonna get almost all snow all weekend. Highest base (8260') pretty much guarantees it. The only time we MIGHT get rain is Saturday afternoon, but then it's gonna be all snow. I think it's funny that everyone only cares about the big name mountains, not the smaller, privately owned mountains. You guys can stay on your crowded mountains and I'll be skiing pow. In the Chutes.

With wet snow in such an insane amount Tahoe is going to have a phenomenal base. So yeah, to all you haters (pussies), Tahoe's wet snow is going to make for better park-building material, better coverage, and hopefully a longer season. But remember, when considering where to ski, CO and UT are the only places you should look because the west coast has wet, shitty snow, and everyone knows that Breck, Key, and PC are the only mountains with real terrain parks and real terrain.

Mammoth is at: 10 inches before 6am, 14 inches from 6 am - 2, We're easily getting 1 - 2 inches an hour. It's supposed to get heavier tonight/tomorrow.

Only thing that sucks about this.... I don't have snow removal. FUCK SHOVELING THIS.

Three feet of heavy snow and about 600 square feet. I weigh about 115 lbs. You wouldnt want to do it either.

San Juans are no joke. Silverton gets over 400 inches of DRY snow a year and wolf creek even more than that. It's ironic how you ski tahoe and criticize telluride for low snow LAST YEAR.

When the chutes are open not sure I would rather ski anywhere in North America than Rose.

Crowds ruin squaw but it does have legit terrain its definitely the third best Tahoe mountain after Rose and Kirkwood. Those 3 are kings. Sugar Bowl, Heavenly, Northstar, Sierra, and Alpine are all pretty damn solid considering they aren't even the good Tahoe mountains.

The Bay-Sac-Tahoe-Reno area is definitely the best part of the United States to live in if you like to ski and way chiller than CO or Utah.

MMMM only SF Bay area is 3 hours. Sac or Reno are under an hour to the mountains.

Now the part you are knocking for being a full 3 hours from the mountains happens to be a top 5 major metropolitan area with possibly the highest concentration of good jobs in the United States. So are NYC, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, LA better places to live for skiiers? Of course not.

Love them chutes. Rose is my home mountain, and I have to say the chutes are probably my favorite part. I don't mind the badlands, double downs is fun in the spring, but the lets just hope rose is even skiable this weekens

This rain fucking blows. I'm sitting here at work on the north shore and it's like a hurricane outside. Insane wind gusts and the rain/wind is only supposed to get more intense into tomorrow. My buddies at Squaw have been saying that it hasn't been looking promising at all up there. Maybe the very top of the mountain, but that's about it. Maybe head up there for a few laps Monday when the skies clear a little to see the damages...

it just depends on the temp.... if its a low of 35 tonight in tahoe then it will rain..tahoe snow or any snow can be heavy or light..mostly tahoe is heavier than most eastern skiing but pow is pow

Mammoth has 3-4 feet at base. It was all snow above midmountain with rain at base last night. Just changed back over to snow and expecting another foot. Im guessing top is at 5-8 feet from this. Tomorrow will be madness.
