Is My SD Card Fried?

I have a 32GB Sandisk SD card, I only have one picture on it (0.5MB), but the card says that there's only 5GBs of free space on the entire card. How can that be? If I try to put something larger that 5GB on it, it says 'Card is full', when there's obviously more than enough room. Is my card fried, and I have to get a new one, or is there a way to fix this?

When was the last time you reformatted it?

Do you just throw things into the trash from the card, and never empty the trash?

Well there's your problem. The files are still on your card, just hidden because you moved them to the trash. Empty trash = files gone!
