Step up VS MasterMinds VS other cheap skis?

Ok, im in the market for skis and i really want Ar7s, but they are abit out of my price range. So i dialed two pairs that may suit me.
I am 5'8 135lbs
I ski all park, maybe some groomers on shitty park days
I ski mostly rails but I do still hit larger jumps

Line Step up
-My worries are that they will be too heavy and kindof ride like afterbangs. And i hate dull feeling skis, that have no pop and feel like 2x4s.
-But they are kinda stiff and have a race base. so it wouldn't suck in the spring.

Master Minds
-My worries are that they will be way too soft and not hold up on jumps and the bases will suck and I wont be able to hit large features because I cant find the speed.
-They seem to be super fun and be super quick (when spinning) and just be fun and poppy.

I feel like masterminds are more of a beginner park ski, why dont you check out k2 or volkl or even head. I have a pair of gp84s and I love them, they are light enough and can handle bigger jumps. TnL has some solid deals on last years head skis

Last year's K2s are the way to go in my mind. I'm sure you can find a deal on some recoils or domains, both very solid skis for what you have in mind.

My 'new' (one day used) stepup's are on my way. I dont really know if this is the best ski out there for me, but decided to just try them out, since i also had a very good deal them.
One of the reasons i bought them is the race base, symetric and the fact they are kind of stiff.

What i'm trying to say is if you can get a good deal on them, and have to choose between the stepup or the mastermind, i would rather pick the stepup.

masterminds suck lol... i snapped a pair in my back yard kind pathetic. dont buy them and for the step ups they look really nice. go to lineskis.com and see if they have the carbon stringers in them. if they do they will pop pretty good. most of the time stiff skis are pretty poppy. i mean LJ rides them and he rips shit up

Back here,
I picked up the StepUps today, and try them out in the fridge.
Got to say that i really like them. They are pretty stiff in my opinion, you got to like it. Riding switch seems way easier than it was before on my Völkl ledge's.
The stiffnes gives a sweet pop when popping of the lip.
I just have to get comfortable with the 113-88-113, Its a bit wider than the Ledge's i rode before.

Since i'm not (yet) that much in rail yet i cant really tell you something about how they feel on them. But there allot of reviews of them on the web.

On my advice, just pick them, try them, and if you dont like them, you can try selling them again?

I'm a bit bigger than you (6'1" and about 160) and I bought some 2011 step ups because they were dirt cheap. So far I've only ridden them on my backyard set up and at my local hill once. I don't really notice the extra weight, especially since they are centre mounted. Having only really used them once in an actual park I can't say for certain but so far I found them to be poppy and still fun. For 170 bucks though I can't really complain
