$185 for a speeding ticket?

Got pulled by a statie on my way home from Sunday River the other day in Woodstock. Long story short I was doing 70 in a 55 and the fine just seems fucking steep...it's my first speeding ticket is $185 too much or is it just me?

That seems ridiculous for 15 over though... I always drive about 70 on the way home from SR. Maybe I should think about slowing down...

i have heard of one of my friends getting a reckless driving+illegal modifications (beer tap handle as shifter and car was too low - apparently thats a thing cops will check in bc) + no front plate + still had his N license (graduated licensing program in BC) all totalling close to $1k in fines

A lot of it depends on the state. $185 for 15 over in California would be a bargain. I know my mom received a $400+ ticket going 24 over. Don't complain and pay that, it sounds about right.

Eh thats what my girlfriend got for going 45 in a 25. Stupid sign placement on the cities part which lead us to believe it was a 35, still speeding though. The cop was nice and gave us the judges number whom we called up and reduced it to half that with half the points which was nice.

He also said it was going to be a warning primarily then asked to see my license and registration brought it to his crown vic then returned with the ticket anyways...before this I was 4 for 4 on reviving just warnings...can he see I've had four warnings in MA and base his decision off that?

i have to go to court next Friday for a 75 in a 55. i think next time i get a ticket im just going to say "I'm sorry officer I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job, but i wanted to let you know i can't go to court because im leaving to country for (some bullshit reason) in 5 days so whatever you write the ticket as is what im going to pay. if you could take that into consideration I would really appreciate it." then go to court after i get a brake and get it taken down even more.

I got nailed for a $600 speeding ticket going 61 in a 45 construction zone. No workers were present, no lane closures, no other cars on a Sunday afternoon. Fucking shitty tits.

I got a ticket for $167 right before summer last year. I was going 52 in a 35 on a straight away in farm country. I wasn't pissed about the money I only care that I got 4 points AND I can't get my senior license until i'm 18. This means I can't drive between 11pm and 5am and I also can only have 1 non-immediate family member in the car that is under 18. Only 4 months till I'm 18!

It may seem steep but you were going 15. Buddy of mine was doing 100 on his bike in a 35 and popped a wheelie. Had his license taken away on the spot, thrown in jail for the weekend, and had like a $400 ticket.

i got a $365 ticket... was bullshit cos the cop marked me for 11mph faster than the speed i was speeding at

was already going like 55 in a 35 which i feel retarded for to begin with but the cop gave me 66 in a 35 cos he's a douche and i'm too retarded to realize that i should ask for the speed gun...

yeah wait till you get to the west coast. CA in particular. They will bust your balls. my 20 dollar "talking on the celly" ticket turned out to be 150 in the end.


Small i know, but think about how much a ticket will really be when you get busted for 145 in a 45...

idaho is nice though now. cheap tix.
