i use my trucks mosltly for all work and no play, my 03 2500 cummins HO 6 spd is my hauler and highway truck for long rides since it gets 22-23 mpg on highway with no cat, exhaust, and banks elbow. My other truck is a 99 dodge dakota 5.2 4x4 5 spd. now thats a fun truck id like to lift and turn into a play truck, such a fun lil truck with that 5.2 l v8 in it. just have a knn cold air, and flowmaster cat back duals on her so far and no pictures yet. but ya, in my opinion, its the smaller trucks and suvs , tacoma, sr5, 4 runner, 1st gen durango ( body on frame ) dakota ( ones with the v8 , fuck american v6s ) are the fun ones to build / play around with. ill use my dakota for that since it has a nice pacackge to begin with with the 4x4 , sport package with rancho shocks, lsd, 5.2 liter v8, exhaust, intake etc. now just need lift, tires and wheels.
but as far as my 2500 diesel its a work truck and im going to keep it that way, little amount of mods as possible for mileage and durability and thats it for the diesel, plus dieselss , when there lifted especially are really heavy off road ( full size diesels ) vehicles and get bogged down pretty easy unless you on it pretty hard the whole time. ive done my fair share of off roading growing up in montana with friends with built suvs/ trucks ( usually non skiiers ha ) and i have to say, if i was going to lift my dakota, or my cummins, id deff lift and pimp out my dakota . espescailly cause da 5.2 v8 and 5 spd really hard to find. well so are the 6 spd in 03 cummins, but hey i shifting myself ... wish i had a pic of my dak, shit is mint. cant wait to get some cash !! this thread makes me drool !
