what if someone on here who is really handy with sewing and fixing clothing started a business making people normal jackets (saga, bloom, orage, etc) into zip off sleeve vests. You send them your jacket and they vest if for you and you pay them the appropriate charge. I think this would be incredibly sick and great opportunity for someone who knows what he or she is doing with a needle to help out their fellow NSers and make a quick buck!

ps. this idea sprouted from seeing some one do it with a saga ghost jacket in the saga thread

Firstly it's not that hard to do, I never sew but I know how to do it and that I could. Secondly there's no point having somebody on here do it because you may as well get some tailor in your town to do it and it won't have shipping costs and you won't have the risk.

The execution would have to be professional. I'm not sending my $400 jacket into some 15 year old boy with his moms sewing machine.

A while back i emailed a professional seamstress in hopes of vesting one of my jackets she said the cost of her doing it right would out weigh me just buying a vest to wear instead of my jacket, but who knows she could have just been feeling lazy and wanted an excuse regardless i deff think there is money to be had in being able to convert jackets so they can be both jackets and vests
