Opus/pettitor/SFB

Looking for eastcost pow ski that can carve on grommers, handle occasional park (i have other skis for that), and just an overall fun ski for trees, switch riding etc.. I was hesitating between those skis! Maybe more people had the chance of riding the pettitor now, so more feedback would be appreciated. I was looking for the 189 pettitor or 192 opus ( im 5'11 170 lb & advance skier) they Will be mounted neer centre with fks 140! Thanks!

For east coast I would go SFB, the petitor and the opus may feel like overkill at times. But if you perfer a wider ski then you shouldn't have a problem with the first point. The SFB will feel the most comfortable on those occasional park laps, not only because of the smaller waist/dimensions, but I have also heard quite a few people say the SFB feels like a beefed up park ski. In terms of flex the petitor will feel the stiffist, then the Opus, then the SFB. For steeper terrain I would most like to have the Petitor under my feet but for mellower treed runs and messing around on smaller features on shallow slopes the Opus or the SFB would be my pick, depending on the snow conditions as to which I chose.

Hope this helps, as I have never personally experienced east coast pow or had the chance to ride any of these skis it's difficult for me to say definitively which ski would suit you best. Joey

Bacon would be best for east coast riding. The other two skis are too wide for your terrain conditions.
Also consider the Line Blend and Fat-ypus L-Toro.

out of those three the bacons would definitely be the best but you should also take a look at the k2 kung fujas and the moment pb&js those would be a better east coast ski with the narowwer waist

For St-Sauveur (I assume you ski there) don't go over 110 waist. Srsly... you'll only get speed at the half of the mountain,which, lets face it, is damn small for SFB and Petitors.

Like mentionned, Kung Fujas or PB&J are good options aswell.

Don't go too big, your mountain doesn't worth it.

i live in quebec city now, so i ride mostly mont saint-anne, massif de la petite riviere, and massif du sud. (these mountains usually get MUCH more snow than st-sauveur!) Has i said i already have park skis (recoils), i was leaning towards the SFB, but i think the 184 might be too short... anyone has ridden the pettitor?  and thanks to everyone who replied +K

Haaaa! No doubt then you can rock the Bacons easily. You could go with the Opus aswell if you're into the glades and backcountry of Massif du Sud (massive pow there). If you're spending more time in MSA then look for something with a camber tail (like the Armada TST) or something more all-mountain/on-piste performance since there's not a lot of terrain (other than La Forêt Noire) to shred around off groomers.

Also, if you ride Stoneham, there is a lot of sweet spots for pow, chutes, cliffs and pillows, so the Opus would work there aswell.

You definitively have more options living around Quebec than in the Laurentides that's for sure.
