Tamron or Sigma?

So lately I've been doing research on lenses for a Canon 60D that will serve primarily as a video lens but I also want to use it for some photography. I have been looking at the Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 lens and the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 lens mainly for the image stabilization in the each lens to help with shaking during filming. Which lens is best? Am I choosing the right size of lens for video and photography?

Image stabilization is for photos, get the tamron non vc and a glidecam for the same price.

Certain lenses are better than others.

But keep in mind that Tamron is approved by canon to make lenses for their cameras. Sigma is not.

So image stabilization won't really matter when shooting video as long as i have some sort of fig rig of glidecam?

What about Tokina lenses are they approved for Canon cameras?
