Deviated septum surgery

Have any of you guys ever had this done before? I had it done a couple days ago. I had 2 inch long splints up my nose for the first two days and i had a facemask with a gauze piece attatched to it and i still cant really breathe out of my nose yet and its been 5 days.

So my questions for you that have gotten it done, how long did it take for you to fully recover? and did it make your breathing a ton easier?

For those of you that dont know what this is its when they surgically correct your nasal pathway if its crooked or deviated.

I had it done when i broke my nose. I had to go back in a couple weeks later to have the splints taken out by the doc. Once those are outta there you'll be able to breathe normally again.

I had it done a few years ago. Took a fastball to the face, it was most unfortunate.

But it took me about a week and a half before I was out doing things.. I think? It was a while back so I dont remember exact time frames. But I do remember getting cabin fever day 5 cause I didnt do ANYTHING but sit in my house. That was terrible.

After a week and a half or so I was probably doing more than I should have, shooting hoops, throwing a football, etc. Doc said I should have done any physical activity till like 2-3 weeks. I think it took me around a month or 2 to be fully recovered and fine. I had to check back with the doc here and there to make sure everything was okay.

A few months after I started getting nosebleeds pretty frequently. I would blow my nose and it would just start bleeding. Got that shit coderized and now it doesn't happen as often, but it still does.

My breathing is much better than it was. At the time I couldn't breathe out of the entire left side of my nose. Now I still wouldn't say I am 100% normal breathing, but I am pretty close.

Best advice, Do what the doc says. He has done this before and knows the right way to recover. I think that my early physical activity and other things lead to the nose bleeds.

I had it done, the few days after you are in pain but after that, itll be alright. Just not being able to do some physical activities (as suggested by a doctor) like running, swimming, ect. for 1-2 weeks but after that you are smooth sailing

I had it done after I raped my face and teeth in a downhill mountain biking accident.
I really don't remember how long I had those bastards in for but I remember not really being able to breath until they were out.

so do you guys think it would be reallly pushing to to start skiing park aggressively after about and a half?

My friend had it done and was fine after it. He just couldn't blow his nose for like 3 months or something like that hahah

OP i had one done as well as some cosmetics also because it was free and through insurance. The week after is HELL they put these things deep in your nose which are so dam unfomfortable. Your nose is going to hurt for a while and also bleed randomly for a bit. Get some good video games and shit to do because there aint nothing to do after. They say you cant even work out
