Today i tried to keep learning front switchups or rails instead of just boxes. I was able to complete the spin but then i just slip off and lose balance. Almost got it a few times but it feels sketchy. The rail was also kinda short and wasnt much time to think about it. Any tips?
get comfortable with fs 270s then just do that except a little earlier. you'll hopefully land the switch up right on the end of the rail then finish the 270 and land switch. once you get comfortable spin an extra 180 for kfed or practice sliding unnatural and switch up earlier on the rail, riding it out. that's how i learned it anyway...
Getting comfortable with edge pressure/ scissoring your feet should help a bit. I might just confuse you with this explanation so dont listen to me if thats the case. If you are sliding right foot forward and want to front switch up then push your left toes down towards the ground and flex your right toes up and give it a little hop at the same time if you are worried about catching on the rail. as you get comfortable with that sort of edge pressure and can control it then you can spin either direction depending on which way you scissor your feet.
Just lock the rail real hard, scissor the shit out of your feet, and spin and turn your head. Go for fs switchup to ride away switch the first couple times so that itll force you to spin hard.
