The Baby Lab: An insight into our innate morality.
that was really neat. seems like morality is a combination of nature and nurture, as opposed to a direct conflict between one vs. the other as people so often say.
I can't watch it, but I just came across the idea yesterday that Darwin didn't say anything about 'survival of the fittest' as is usually attributed to characteristics of evolution. Evolution doesn't favour the organism that is best at competing necessarily, but could also favour the organism that avoids competition or who can work together to solve problems, supporting the theory that humans are inherently not bad or feel the need to dominate and compete with others. It is also found repeatedly that when individuals are told to solve a problem in competition for a prize, they do much worse and make less progress than those individuals told to work together in a group.
