How do you protect your skis from theft?

i got a new pair of skis today and it's the first time i've gotten skis of the current model year. i also got them mounted with pivots, so they really stand out. my question is, what do you do to make sure no one snags your skis? is it worth investing in a lock? thanks

I usually just put each ski in different spots kind of far away from each other. Like one near the lift and the other on the opposite side of the lodge or something.

seperate them, and throw some stickers on your skis so they are more recognizable in case they do get stolen

Is there a way to lock your poles onto the ski rack with the skis? Normally i've always just used the shittiest poles i could find but i won these reallyy nice poles that i'm not tryna get stolen before they end up breaking anyways..

Usually if im with some friends or brothers, we pair our seperate skis together. Like clip one of my skis to one of their skis, to make mismatched pairs. Then just put them away from each other.

I almost never go in the lodge. I eat breakfast and carry a snickers bar. if im with a group who wants to go in i will stay out and watch all the skis while they bring me food.

All my setups are worth a lot. If i had a $1000 bill i would not leave it unattended, why would i leave $1000 worth of gear sitting unattended?

I just find the steeziest, most thugged-out wigger or anyone named Gunnar or Hunter or Logan and fucking beat the shit out of him in front of the ski rack like it's the goddam minority report.

I am getting more & more like this. When I ski, I find no there is need to go inside, because I have gone to the mountain to ski so that's what I do. I can eat when I'm at home, on the way to the hill, or on a chairlift.

If I do go in a lodge though, I try to
1) not stay long
2) put them somewhere I can see

This.  At my home mountain shit's totally safe and I've left my shit out overnight before.  Anywhere else and it's like I'm the secret service and my skis are the president.

my buddy (non freeskier) has a pair of carving skis that were like 900 bones, he doesnt give a fuck what they look like so he put a strip of duct tape down the entire length of the ski. No one would steal them cause they look like pieces of shit with the duct tape.

I usually don't go into the lodge. And when I do. I usually splurg on beer and expensive food, in that case. It's usually outside on the patio at beaver creek I end up layin my skis down where I can see them. Ya never know who is lurking. I don't buy new skis every year, and have 10 different pair at my disposal, so those skis are very important to me. My eyes don't leave them for more then a few seconds. Sucks. I would use a lock but I don't want to have to carry a ski lock around with me all day.

yea ill normally just stash my skis in some random spot, probably separate them too, but if i have my expensive touring poles with me and not just shitty park poles, i always bring them in. People will bitch at you if you bring skis in, but no one will say anything if its just your poles
