True dat, it's surprising that in a community full of skiers (and skiing is a hobby, for fun, for 99% of you) that such a huge portion of you don't encourage these girls, and many of you put them down.

We should be supporting  all of the girls as they, in turn, help grow the sport and are trying to have fun as well. The women freeskiers were all little girls that started skiing a long time ago, and most of them never even dreamed that they would be where they are today. But with skier girls and role models like Sarah Burke, Ingrid Backstrom, Kaya Turski etc. the women's side of the started to progress.

The sport needs both men and women to progress. It's a sport that evolves, and the hardworking girls that are out there are trying to encourage, grow, and support the community, why make it harder for them by constantly putting them down?

And if you actually encouraged girls to get out there, brands would sell more gear and the ski industry wouldn't be in the sad budget cutting state it's in.

Just saying, that it's ok to encourage Kelly and the other girls possibly?? They are happy to be doing their thing all together. I am sure Kelly has looked up to the other athletes at one point or another?

We'll support girls when they do cool stuff. We support Kelly. we support Lisa Zimmermann. We don't support Kaya when Red Bull comes out with a super unimpressive Video. We don't need to support girls for their mere existence. Take the k2 misfits episode today, 5 new edits hit the NS video section every day with better skiing than that. Why should they be rewarded or supported for that? Just because they're girls?

Supporting females will do two beneficial things. (there are more, but these are relevant to you.)

1. Help women's skiing progress and get it to the point where you enjoy watching the edits.

2. Help you get your dick wet.



Right now... you're just exacerbating the desires of the female NS community to take a ski pole to your balls should a member encounter you on the mountain. Do you really want that?

Kelly is the future.. anyway I don't think she can beat some of the pro girls at a comp today... she just cant go as good on the big jumps... like 9 queens for example.. she was there... But this will change soon....

Yeah, it's great to see the current and future women skiers giving it their all.

I think some people seem to forget that the current competitive freeski girls did not start hitting jumps and rails when they were 4, 10, or 13 years old as the sport didn't really exist back then. The small population of women freeskiers has paved the way on their own, now little girls having something to aspire to be and have an idea of what is possible.

If you look at original videos of JP Auclair, Mike Douglas, 3 Phils etc, their skill level at 17years old isn't quite the same as the skill level of today's 17 year old because they paved the way for freeskiing. Different times = different evolution!

Totally agree with  whodunit and his words of wisdom: "The achievements of other skiers, no matter what their age or gender, is always something that challenges and inspires the others. There will always be a new youngun, male and female, bursting on the scene, challenging everyone else"

Keely is very good but there are other local heroes not marketed or publicized as Kelly is who as good or better. There is 8 years old boy in BC Canada and a 9 year old girl in AB Canada who stomped 720 and front flips - cant wait what comes out this season !  Let us admit the sport gets younger every year so let us look at our backyards and support our local heroes who pushed envelope every day !

You wouldn't start clapping if you saw a monkey peel a banana would you? You'd probably be even less enthused if a company sponsored this monkey and posted extravagant videos of it peeling two bananas at once expecting the world to stop and stare, because after all it's just a monkey right?

Sorry, it really grinds my gears when people try to reduce gender inequality by saying women should be given "softer" treatment than men.

Kelly's a great skier and all. Don't get me wrong. But she looks like she hasn't hit puberty yet. And when she starts to fully develop, it's going to hit her like a brick wall
