saying he wants to ban assault rifles means almost nothing. the technical ramifications that separate assault rifles from other guns is a lot more complex than most people realize, and have almost nothing to do with 99% of people who own guns.

Actually he said assault weapons are part of the problem and we should reinstitute the ban on them, then he said that they weren't the whole problem and that we need to figure out something else to deal with handgun violence. He never said ban handguns.

And again, under his presidency, gun rights have only expanded.

As a gun owner from the north but also from a town that has no police station at night, I'm going to have to disagree with what you said on hand guns, looking to expand my collection with a 30-06 though preferably a leave action a lot of people are telling me .308s are a better choice what 30 do you have and do you like it?

Well then you look at what he want to do with assult rifles. You look at liberal states track record on restricting hand guns. You realize your a liberal and have the same views as most liberals on restricting hand guns. Do I need to say more? He wants to restrict or ban hand guns

Not sure if my dad is an NRA member or not but I used to be. I've kinda lost interest with guns over the past few years as I've been doing a lot of car stuff. Currently own a 1986 Remington 870 Wingmaster, black walnut stocks, and a 12 gauge. Got it for a steal at $200. I really need to get my pistol permit application done so I can inherit pistols my grandpa and dad own.

the NRA is totally fucking retarded... advocacy for gun owners... the only proper uses for guns are if you are currently serving in the military, are an FBI agent, or hunt on a regular basis. get pistols off of our streets. small town cops don't even need guns. but yeah, regardless, i love hunting.

In Chicago hand guns are virtually illegal yet it is the murder capital of the USA. Utah has one of the highest gun onwership in the union yet it is a very safe place except where the Mexicans live. Guns don't kill people Obama's brothers do

uh are you a cop? i guess i didnt state it eloquently. guns are tools not toys. using a gun as protection from bears etc on two week backpacking trips is wholly different than cops in Maine having handguns, who deal with nothing more than inspecting kills and busting drunk kids, and discharging them in stupid situations... guns encourage violent, reactionary policing rather than community based efforts. maybe i should correct myself and say that I am wholly against pistols being legal. hunting rifles, fine. you can't carry it around concealed in public. the hypocrisy of pistols being legal but weed isnt (fully yet) is ridiculous. If i have a handgun permit, and I get arrested carrying a .9mm or a quad of weed I will get in far more trouble for the quad, when it is harmless, and i have the capacity to do some serious damage with a nine.

Just to let you know I carry as well in general. You honestly think that I am going to carry a rifle with ammunition on a 2-week backpacking trip? You realize how heavy that would be? Do you really think that "community based efforts" are going to eliminate people braking into houses, rapes, and murders? How would people protect themselves if noone had a gun except the bad guys? I'm guessing you live in the middle of nowhere where you haven't seen too much shit, but its out there and its not going to stop from "community based efforts".

In massachusetts the police chief has to sign off on it. Our police chief is notorious for not signing off on it even though the applicaticant has meet all other requirement. This is what happens in ny Illinois California and dc which is what the liberals will base their gun law models on

He implying or trying to that I'm a convicted felon Which I'm not. But I lived in ny right outside the city. Where I grew up you wouldn't need a gun for anything and they were restricted everywhere. So I have nothing to say on the matter I just don't like Frenchy.

homie i'm from downtown toronto, im middle class but iv seen some shit. been robbed at gunpoint twice in relatively upscale neighborhoods. i guess canada doesnt have legal firearms anyways, so the gun i had put up to my forehead outside the subway was probably illegal anyways. trust me when shit goes down, when ur gettin robbed, even if you have a gun you arent going to do shit. professional firefights occur like 6 inches above the ground, the average fatass carrying a handgun would shit his pants quicker than he would flick his safety get to a good position and target domepiece. don't give me the iv seen nothing bullshit. iv seen a fair bit. the average person with a gun does not have the real training necessary to use their weapon in a firefight. it just causes more chaos. big city cops need guns. when youre dealing with street gangs, mafias, and crazy fucks in general you need a gun. i go to school in a small town in maine now where the cops are pussies, and i see them with fucking giant unneccessary guns in a town where shit NEVER happens. it makes the police seem as if they are fighting a war out there. i'm telling you in brunswick, me, the cops do not need guns. they load up as if they are saving the world, as if they are badass, as if theyre gun is the only thing stopping the town from going to shit. how about ditching the gun, talking to people, and try to understand where people are coming from before you threaten and cuff. i understand why the toronto police has guns. i do not understand why the brunswick maine police have guns. a couple of years ago in bucksport a dude got shot by the cops, not acting particularly violently. he could have been taken down with non-lethal force. my brother is a paralegal for the FBI/IRS, and the amount of IRS agents he encounters carrying handguns around boston is absurd. what do they need guns for. the government gives guns to an absurd amount of people. you said you lived in Utah? why do you carry again? ever been shot at? ever had your gun save your life? no its a fucked up paranoid way of looking at humanity. no one gets raped and murdered in brunswick maine. 20 year olds get drunk. you dont need to shoot for underage drinking. that was my point. small town cops are not fighitng a war, big city cops sometimes are. if you have effectively shot someone who was in the process of raping your mom i could maybe understand your paranoia. but i dont im sorry. you are not hood. youre not sellin crack you dont need to intimidate people.

The people who legally carry a concealed weapon arent the problem. I carry a .380 most of the time. I am not the problem. I am here to defend myself from the problem. A bro got stabbed in the back going into my 7-11 a few months ago by some cracked out beaner after a botched robbery. That shits not happening to me. You can get stabbed all you want but dont try and regulate how i defend my life

Not to mention your bit on concealed. In oregon, i can open carry my AK with a 75 round drum, bullet in the chamber. If i wanted to i could cause a lot more damage with that than any of my handguns. God bless oregon an my ccl.
