Please Help! How to fix my destroyed skis? +kkkk

So here is my problem, these skis were new last season and after about a week there were cracks on each edge under foot about, ten cracks per ski. once spring came around and we were riding slush the base began to disconnect from the ski because water was getting in through the cracks and under the base. After a few days riding this season one part of the bubbled up base finally split so i cut it and p-texed it. Well that didn't last one day and now on the inside of the ski it has actually cracked through the core. I still want to be able to ride theses skis for urban and what not. What do you recommend I do? What I was thinking was to epoxy the crack then but like 2 small screws through the sidewall to link the crack up and then either p-tex the missing base or just leave it. Would that work? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

2010 atomic punx the punx have since upgraded to a beefy edge so they are better now the edges on these were pretty tiny.

if they are going to be a urban ski, fill with p-tex or epoxy and that about all you can do. Those look pretty messed up. Once water gets in there and the serious cracks start to happen, you're kind of screwed.

Not trying to call you out here, but I've had my 09 punx for over 2 years and have had not durability problems, other than topsheet chipping. Did you ever wax?

As a dryslope skier, I can definitively say the only effecting thing to stop your skis falling to pieces is epoxy resin.

Yes we did wax fairly often, the only thing that we didn't do was detune the edges to prevent cracking. Being from the midwest rails are pretty much all we hit so skis can take some abuse.

Sorry for the dub post, but if you can, let epoxy dry beside a dehumidifier, it sets much harder.

You don't take anywhere near the same force on a dryslope as you do when doing urban/skiing a proper mountain.

Lots of epoxy. Use some tape to make a guide where you dont want the epoxy to be. Also, I reccomend using whatever epoxy has the LONGEST cure time, it will be the strongest bond. If you hit it with a heat gun right after you apply it and its still liquidy, it will become MORE liquidy and sink into where it needs to go and the air bubbles will come out. Then use 2 thin wax scrapers to protect the ski (lol) and some then clamp it up, let is cure and then once its cured clean it all up, wax em and you'll be good to go.

FYI Im a ski tech, Ive done repairs like this before, and it WONT last. But for urbans, you'll get some more life out of them at least.

100% what I'd do, but make sure its UHMW plastic for those scrapers, other plastics could bond to your ski rather well with all that epoxy...

I'll have to try that, UHMW is great but its too soft to distribute force evenly on large areas, at least without a ton of clamps.
