Will Tanner ever move to Armada for outerwear?

With JP's switch to the Armada Outerwear program, maybe Tanner is feeling a need for change too. Tanner's got a sick Oakley pro-model, but hell JP had a sick Orage pro-model too so what's stopping Tanner from switching, aside of course from a contract, but who know's maybe he'll choose to put in the same testing and knowledge on Armada's outerwear program as JP is now. JP said in his BroBomb interview that he really thought it made sense to make the switch since he was a part-owner and maybe Tanner feels the same way. Feel free to put in your thoughts CCREWSOLDIER.

I don't see tanner moving away from Oakley as they have backed him so long in outerwear and in optics. As far as I know they have a pretty good relationship.

I got his Oakley jacket the Jamaica one its fuckin sick. I can ski in it with only a tee shirt on underneath if I want on days that aren't particularly warm and you can't do that in many non insulated jackets.

Oakley's gore tex stuff is bomb the snow pants are sick too.

Dunno why he'd drop them.


I'd consider Armada's if they made the AK JJ 10 cm longer and stopped having short turn radius's.

Short turn radius skis are gay (unless you have a reason for wanting to make a lot of turns.) But dudes making tons of tight turns on corduroys look like fuckin idiots and almost as dumb as snowboarders.

He is the freeskiing face of Oakley. Red Bull picked up Bobby before dropping Tanner, which made sense, as one was, in a way, replacing the latter. But Oakley hasn't made any recent additions nor do they have another big time freeskier with outerwear and optic pro models. It just would not be logical for them until they add another huge athlete.

For one this whole post is terribly irrelevant.

And also since when has a short turning radius on a ski been a bad thing? It's not as if you can only turn that length, you just can turn them tighter if you want to. If Tanner Hall can ski them in Alaska, I'm sure they would work fine for you.

JP left Orage to work with Armada in their outerwear department, why wouldn't Tanner? I did not say that Oakley would drop him and I'm aware of how long they've been working together.

Just thought I would get the idea out there and see what everyone else had to say.

But seriously why would Tanner leave Oakley?

Not sure why JP left Orage but i feel like he is getting paid about the same and is now sponsored for outerwear by the company he is a part owner in.

If Tanner was to leave Oakley he would loose a ton of money and a ton of exposure, since his separation with Red Bull i would say Oakley is his biggest sponsor(unless he was in fact picked up by rockstar.)

not trying to defcnd that kid, but jjs do have the turning radius of snowblades...definitely not high speed chargers. Just look at the difference in sidecut between jjs and other armadas compared to the sidecut on praxis skis.

As many have pointed out, Tanner is a huge sunk cost for Oakley and vice versa. Barring some catastrophic event -which you can't rule out with Tanner- it is very unlikely he would switch, or be dropped.

He'll stay on Oakley. At least that's my guess. They've been behind Tanner forever. Not to mention that Oakley is also one, if not the, biggest names in the Optics game.

Nevermind, I remember my logic: Seth is a baller big mountain charger, and Tanner is more of Oakley's comp/park/BC Booters guy, since Simon essentially dropped from the face of the earth.

A whole 18m!!!! Damn thats a long turn!!!! I'm sorry but what in the fuck am I reading?

Don't get me wrong a short radius ski is fine if thats your thing, they are probably easier to ski for park skiers getting into the pow game (basically 95% of Armada's customers), your post is just so beyond wrong. Once you get up to speed nothing can match a 30m+ turn, anything sub 20m will just squirl out and deflect especially if it has a crazy rocker/taper profile (JJ).

Yah this is it.

I don't know what that kid is after in his skis but you can't go fast AND make short turns in powder.

30m is the bare minimum a turn radius should be for a powder ski...(unless you feel the need to make a shitload of turns.)

I know, without money there wouldn't be professionals of any sorts. That's why I HATE the fact that a lot of the NS community and skiing kids in general call people sell out's / talk shit on people who sign legitimate contracts with companies with legitimate money. They say that it's lame when people sign with companies such as RedBull, Target, ect., but in reality without those companies our sport won't grow. It won't get to the general public and if it doesn't ever reach the public and people don't know about it, then the sport will die just like any other sport that had lack of interest / funding. Whether people like it or not, those are the companies with money and those are the athletes that will continue to be able to just AFFORD to keep skiing and doing what they love.. That's my $.02 from observing the sport in general in the last couple of years / discussing with other skiers.

This. Simon hans't really been heard from in a while. Last photo I saw of him was a Head AD in the Freeskier Buyers Guide. Haven't seen anything else. His suit for this season looks hideous.... Irrelevant post I know but I thought I'd share it.

In the winter I live in the casinos, bet college basketball, and ski tahoe mountains :). he also seems like one of those people that think they are really good at skiing and talk it up a lot then act like a douche because of it, but actually they suck.
