sup so my culminating for shop class has been assigned. it's something that has to be able to support 180 lbs of weight. it can be anything. i was thinking of a muskoka chair or a rocker. got any ideas for challenging and fun things to make?
Buy your own! That's what I did for my project, I made a DFD. Because it was in class I spent a lot of time on it, it was perfect. Figure out your angles, maybe toss some siding on it, and just make it look pristine. My teacher loved it and I got a good mark for ingenuity (even though they are pretty common.)
I suppose this isn't auto shop but if you can work with motors and shit, build a winch and hit urban with it after receiving an A+...but if its strictly woodworking then make a pvc rail of some sort...that's what I did last year for my manufacturing class
Just last week another NS'er and I made a box in class. It's legit as fuck, 12 feet long, one foot wide, just build a frame with plywood and supports, and then take some metal as coping and drill that in on the top corners. Your shop probably has some type of L shaped metal pieces. We just hit it yesterday for the first time, slides amazing.
