You also have to think what other sport opportunities do people in Alabama have to cheer for or watch? There's no NFL, MLB, or NBA team in the area. There's just Crimson Tide football, that's the state's franchise (as much as Auburn fans would deny it). I joke that Nick Saban could probably be elected Governor if he ran (assuming they win again).
we have a great chance at a 10 win season. thats a good year for almost any school.
college baseball is great. the CWS is awesome television. maybe you should try watching it.
sure reser isnt the big house. but its my house and i wouldnt trade it for anything. shit, do you have any idea how dinky parker was? reser is like a kingdom in comparison
nothing worse? what about your typical duck fan? at least most beaver fans appreciate success when we have it. not like the duck fans who threw in the towel on the season after the stanford loss.
if you knew much about beaver fans you'd know most of us dont give two shits what other people think about us. dont pretend like oregon i some traditional power. theyve had 4 great seasons. as soon as chip bolts for the NFL it will go back to the way it used to be.
that offense, fuck, i cant wait for it to be gone. ive seen it run over my beavers enough
and corvallis is a rad little town. Im sure pullman is too. Im at PSU right now and a school in a big town just feels wrong. Little town colleges all the way
No one threw in the towel. However, no one can deny that it's devastating to be on cusp of a national championship (that in all likelihood Oregon would win against ND) and losing it because of the worst kicker in the Pac12, in overtime.
You know what's nice about most of the fans of Duck football? They only talk about OSU for about a week a year. All OSU fans seem to know how to talk about is the fact that "we don't like the Ducks!"
that was before the civil war. Am i not allowed to talk about our upcoming opponent? That conversation didnt involve you anyway and in no way, shape or form pertains to our conversation
You called out my school and stadium. I defended my position. You said OSU will always be the other team in the state. Your brought UO into the conversation, not me.
Here's the problem with OSU fans, they get more excited about a Duck loss than a Beaver win. And before El Barto calls me out for being a bandwagonner I was born and raised in Eugene and have been gong to games at Autzen since the early 90s. I love to see the beavers do well because that means the Civil War means that much more with higher stakes on the line at the end of the year. The only team in the Pac 12 I truly hate is Washington. Notre Dame is my second most hated team, I hope Bama rolls them and takes out Manti Tao in the process.
Damn dude have some respect. As much as I dislike ND and watching Lou Holtz give his biased opinion on them week after week you can't discredit what Manti Teo has done this year. Lost his grandmother and girlfriend not only in the same year but like weeks apart from each other. He lead his team to the number one spot in the polls, and he has two booked flights to Miami and New York.
What does this mean? If you're looking for a college experience, Pullman is the best place in the PAC 12. Pullman, along with Corvallis, are actually the two best college towns in the conference (fuck it, we can throw Boulder in there too). Pullman creates a bond between Cougs that you cannot get from any other university in the PAC 12. I get it, we have a shitty football record, that means Pullman is a bad place to live, right? Wrong, WSU still fills up the stadium and we still enjoy every game. When we beat the Huskies, it's practically a riot, but god dammit it's the best time of your life. Cougars have something that bonds them better than any other school in the PAC 12. Oh, we also have tons of hotties.
I don't care if you do or not. I know I'm right. Schools in the middle of nowhere are awesome places to be. Pullman is very under appreciated and a lot of people have misconceptions of the school because of where it is. The first two months I was in Pullman I was a little nervous about the landscape and location, but it's grown on me. I'm glad I'm here instead of UW, I can always live in Seattle later in life.
Yes Bama winning totally proves you were correct in all of those assumptions. Especially the Florida part, look at how well they played in their bowl. Oh wait...
