Lol someone can't take a little joke. But it's ok because for college football i'm a florida state fan. Also you're right, Oregon's professional baseball, football, and hockey teams are way better than ours. OH wait...

Don't know the whole story but my grandpa was always a fan, so my dad was always a fan and it was kinda just passed down to me haha.

Also I know that minnesota sports suck. I've dealt with it my whole life. Only positive is that the gophers have one of the best hockey teams in the country almost every year.

Meh I'm actually good now that I think about it. Tons of starters out on Oregons defense but excuses won't put a W on the schedule. They will play in whatever meaningless bowl game comes around in January and that will be that. Next season will start and the world will continue to go round.

And I will excuse you being all riled up over OSU's "better than average" season which you normally dont have. Congrats, I guess? But your shit talking opportunities ended when you lost to Washington.

585. How long you been a duck fan? OSU had the second most wins in the pac from 2000-2010, yep more than mighty oregon. Not to mention our back to back baseball titles. chip kelly is gone. He cant solve a pro style defense and his nfl stock will only drop if he doesnt take a job this year. Duck fans can enjoy their return to obscurity soon. Not you though because your not a duck fan. i know, i grew up with em and many of my best friends went to UO when i went to OSU. A legit duck fan knows these have been magical seasons and potentially making 4 consecutive BCS bowls is quite an accomplishment. A true duck fan is still thrilled with potentially playing in the fiesta bowl. Eat a dick you bandwagon jerk off

Why are you bringing up baseball in a FOOTBALL thread? And I don't really know if I would call myself a true "fan" since I don't live in oregon nor have I been to a game. It's not necessarily the team or players I like but the way that they play the game like nobody else. No team plays the spread better than oregon and no team in college football is faster than oregon I don't care what anyone says. And they are exciting to watch. I have been watching them since 04, before Dennis Dixon and John Sterwart were popular, before the Boise state brawl game, before wings were on uniforms. And I have continued to watch them through tough losses just like when they lost in the rose bowl to Ohio state and to auburn in the national championship game, usc last year, Arizona when they were ranked #1 in 06. But the last time I checked it wasn't any teams goal to make it to the fiesta, rose, orange or sugar bowl at the beginning of the season. I'm pretty sure you can't raise a crystal ball over your head at the end of any of those bowl games.

You can try and argue with me all you want I really don't care. I like to watch the ducks, I will continue to watch the ducks and that is that.

Notre Dame hasn't played an SEC team this year and it took them 3 OTs to beat Pittsburg, who finished their season with six wins and six losses... Regardless of the outcome of the SEC championship game; Alabama, Georgia, and Florida would all beat Notre Dame like a redheaded stepchild Even LSU, Texas A&M and South Carolina would take ND out to the woodshed and beat them senseless That is all.

ND beat Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, and Stanford when they were all in the top 25, not to mention USC today who was ranked until last week. Notre Dames schedule was the toughest in Div 1 football this season and theyre undefeated. Alabama barely beat LSU and lost to Texas A&M (at home no less). Other than that, who have they beat in the SEC? Arkansas, Missouri, Ole Miss, Auburn, Mississippi State, Tennessee. Of those six teams, exactly one has a winning record. Not to mention an extremely soft non conference schedule. Other than opening up the season against Michigan (neutral site), they scheduled Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, and Western Carolina, all at home. Notre Dame is not the Boise State of this year, that schedules one ranked opponent and then beats up on a weak conference. Their schedule was tougher than anyone in the SEC, the SEC is overrated, and ND remains unbeaten.

What a compelling argument! When was the last time an SEC team didn't win the championship? Texas in 2005. SEC has the best coaches and the best talent, there's not arguing that.

The SEC is great, but LSU, Florida and South Carolina would be even matches for ND. Even Georgia I think would be a close game. Bama maybe not, but well see.


And theres also a lot of crap in the SEC, who ride along with the notoriety of the top teams.

haters gonna hate. Everybody loves to hate Notre Dame but it is undeniable that they deserve to be #1 with one of the toughest schedules in the nation and being undefeated. Go Irish been a ND fan my entire life about time they go back to a BCS bowl

A&M could do it. They arent invincible. Their D is still insane but their offense isnt what it was last year. They are still an insanely good team, and no doubt deserve #2, but they arent unbeatable.

^kind of an inflated reputation if you ask me. I was stationed in southern Alabama for the better part of 2010 and 2011 and to be honest, I wasnt all that impressed. Most people i encountered were a bunch of rednecks who didnt go to college at either school but rooted for whichever team was in national championship contention that year between Auburn or Alabama. It kinda worked out nicely for me because Alabama was the defending champs when i moved there, Auburn won the following year and then Alabama again the next year, so i got to see the "tide roll" back and forth if you will. This reputation that its so consuming in everyones' lives is perpetuated by these fans in Alabama, who prefer to talk about how big of fans they are more than they prefer to talk about the team. If you ever meet any of them their whole attitude isnt "our team is great" its "LOOK AT US! WE CARE SOOOOO MUCH! OUR FANS OUR GREAT!!!" In my opinion, Michigan, Ohio State, the Steelers, Eagles, Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals among others have far better, more fanatical fanbases than the fair weather fans of SEC schools in Alabama.

I agree with you in part that lot's of fans are rednecks who never went to school at either school. But think about it, a lot of fans of any team have never gone to that school or lived in that city or been from that state. People pick their teams, or are raised with their teams. I don't know where you were in Alabama, but no true Auburn or Alabama fan would flip flop...doesn't work like that. And there is no way if you've ever been to a game at Bryant-Denny Stadium that you can't say that the fans are out of this world. A home game weekend in Tuscaloosa is unlike anything you will ever experience, in my opinion. And I've been to a lot stadiums and experienced a lot of games, I've been to games in Death Valley, Michigan, and lots of others I've been to Ohio state for "the game" and I still don't think it could compare to the atmosphere of The Iron Bowl or really a lot of our home games....maybe I'm biased growing up as a die hard fan and then going to school here now. but that's my opinion.
