Post up in the bar at lunch or afternoon and talk to heads, anyone you see getting hooked up with the employee prices by the bartender is there for the winter and not just vacationing so meet them.

British Columbia is a pretty chill place with cool people I dunno you can maybe go down to Van and try to somehow make some friends there I like that city.
