So Saga, you have done it again...

So i ordered a new jacket and pants from Saga in September time. All of it was in stock so it was all fine. I got my confirmation that my stuff was ready to ship. I got confirmation that my stuff had shipped. Yesterday, however, I got told that my order had been canceled my Saga in between US and Canada.

I emailed them asking why and they said that they had to cancel my order as they "Have a temporary shortage in our inventory forcing us to backorder a few items."

I asked my self two questions:

1. How could i have got through the whole process of ordering to the point that my non existent goods were actually being shipped without being told that they didn't actually have them in stock.

2. WTF did they send?! (I got a tracking number and everything)

So what they are saying is, I can wait till start of December and get a free gift pack. Get this right, the 'gift pack' includes. 4 beanies, 4 face tubes and 2 balaclavas. (tanner hall, engage) WHY THE FUCK WOULD I WANT FUCKING 4 BEANIES and 4 FACE TUBES AND 2 BALACLAVAS?! FOR THAT MUCH JUST GIVE ME A FUCKING HOODY.

But for real, im not a spoiled little bitch so i dont actually care when my outerwear comes and i dont care if it comes with 20 hoodys, 100000 hats and whatnot, i'd rather it came with nothing. Even though im skiing on saturday - end of May and am in desperate need of a new jacket I understand that when you are processing that amount of orders at one time, things can go wrong. I just wanted to vent on here. NOTHING LIKE A GOOD INTERWEBS RANT.

Just gonna watch this one. I am interested to know what went down. I ordered a jacket from last year's line a few days before halloween. It is set to be delivered tomorrow (according to UPS)

When you deal with small indie companies you deal with the supply train issues that they have to deal with. It's just a reality you have to deal with to get the kind of product you want.

You can print off and buy shipping labels before you actually send something. They probably printed em up, put em on the boxes before they realized they didn't have enough inventory. They definitely need supply chain help. And since I'm graduating this May from a reputable business school, I would love to be hired to fix this issue.

this was the case. there was a mis communication between our shipping and inventory supply. We thought we would have everything we needed to fullfill all pre orders so went ahead processing them. As we got near to the end we ran into a harsh realization, we were going to be short a few items. it was pretty devastating to us. we even went as far as to re open packages we had packed for team members and pull out any items we could so we could try and fill as many customer orders as possible. unfortunately as in this case there were a few we couldnt fill. we apologize for the inconvenience.

Ah just the shoddiness you'd expect from fast-food multinationals.. Kidding. Sort of..

But this is the reality of dealing with indi companies, and while definitely a large drawback, still worth it overall in my esteem.

Saga really needs to hire more people for thier shipping department. Its really frustrating because this happens every fucking year. I ordered last yrs jacket in late september and it still hasnt come.

If you are saying this, then why produce this fucking thread bitching and whining about if your order has come or not.

It happens EVERY year when kids like you use their parents (not implying you have, bear with me a second here) credit card and order stuff hoping that it'll arrive the following day.

Saga only has a limited workforce and receive a lot of orders in a very short amount of time. Give them a little peace and just be patient, your stuff will arrive so you can go ski in it.

Also, another thing. I ordered my stuff (not any outerwear this time) on June 4th, which was very early on during "round 1" and I only got my shipping confirmation last week (give or take a few days) and guess what, it still hasn't arrived. You know why? I live in the UK, it's only just got into Customs yesterday and will remain in Customs for another week, so I won't be able to ski in mine for a while. Do you see me complaining and creating fucking stupid threads berating on about a few items of clothing that haven't turned up yet?

Yeah its never been an enjoyable experience ordering saga in pre-orders. Been worth it the wait in the end and stuff but its never easy/always complicated.

On my 2 orders, got tracking numbers for both on same day last week. One arrived already and one says UPS haven't received it yet. Week till skiing, jus gotta wait it out.

Last year i had to borrow my female housemates pants for first 2 weeks of season till mine came. they looked sick though.

I have never been a huge fan of saga, but this made me want to support the company. Going to look at some items right now.

OP, part of supporting a small brand is understanding that they are a small brand. Buying from salomon or spyder is a little bit different than saga, fd, bloom, causwell, insert any small brand here. As you can see Saga clearly made a mistake but even with ur tanner hall engage you still get an honest and resonable response from the manufacturer in a reasonable amount of time on a ski forum no less! try getting that from north face. I love supporting these guys and im glad that this is the problem...they are too swamped with orders to fill em all. I always am patient with smaller companies and glad that when i have a problem they are much more willing to help than the big brands bc they are building a reputation. Dont be so upset with free swag or growing pains of small unique brands. relax homie if this is your biggest concern in your life right now, you should feel blessed

hiring more staff = higher pay roll = a need to raise the price of products = un happy customers. its unfortunate when peoples orders get messed up but its not an uncommon thing to happen in the world of internet purchasing. if there were a way to get our products out sooner we would, but when you dont actually have the items in our possession its impossible to ship them. but i can assure you, when your items arrive it will be well worth the wait. all of our stuff is so sick this year. everyone thats come through the office is blown away by all the products and how well theyve turned out this year.

I'm not trying to be 'that guy' here, I've been a big fan of Saga's products for some time now. But, it seems to me that you have a few unhappy customers right now.. So perhaps an increased-price-unhappiness would be mediated by more reliable shipping, while simultaneously avoiding instances of dissatisfactions such as the one at hand..

A price increase would admittedly test the brand loyalty you've cultivated, but the results could be positive.. There are a lot of kids stoked on Saga.

Can I get some Private Equity, VC, Angel Investors or Kickstarter funders in the HOUSE? These guys need capital to expand...

Saga, you should consider reaching out to a PE to get some more funding to finance expansion, or talk to your bankers to consider expanding your line of credit / issuing you a term loan to finance your expansion.

This is a good problem to have... too much demand. you need to expand, and the market demands it.

We want you to succeed, so go get the funding to do so!

i see your point. but there will always be mistakes made and un happy customers. even if we had more staff than we needed and all of our inventory ready to ship on time. were working to handle the problems as best we can.

and to the person suggesting financing options, weve explored nearly every option, were expanding at the rate we want. we dont want to go too big too fast. we want to maintain our brand image and status while providing more/better/different products to our fans. the amount weve grown in the last few years is pretty alarming. wouldnt be possible without our fans, hopefully in years to come we can eliminate nearly all customer order issues.

I deal with companies that send me my ordered product when they say they will. I wish they gave me handjobs.

My comment wasn't a direct stab at Saga. He was just making it seem like it was fine for Saga to continue to screw up because they are a small indie company.

You're comment about them posting in threads? So what? they should be making things right, they screwed up.

I'm sure as time goes on Saga will work out the kinks.

and your last line, well yeah thats the point, they are are small company and are growing, i have no idea why you posted the comment that i originally quoted having read this one :p

slightly disappointed that the companys you deal with dont give out hand jobs, but oh well, i do a better job anyway :|

but its not first drop, its saga. people shit on first drop for their products. we may lack in the custom service/product delivery area from time to time but i feel we more than make up for that with quality of products.
