How do you remount a binding?

Ive got a unique situation here, ive had bindings on my old Surface Watch Lifes that broke. Took them to a ski shop, and had them put new bindings on. Since then Ive gotten new skis, so I took off the bindings on the Surfaces so they could be paired with my new skis. I see they've plugged the holes where the old bindings were. Since then I've fixed my old bindings and want to remount them my self (dont wanna blow $80 at a shop) on my Surfaces for shit skis. I don't need to find out where the holes are since they've been filled with some colorful shit. I just have to redrill them out. How should I do this?

Also I dont give a shit if I accidentally destroy these since theyre gonna be for urban skis, so dont tell me I dont know what Im doing and should have a pro do it.

your getting raped for remounting prices.
If your gonna use any skis seriously riding you should have someone who knows whats going on. It's not worth fucking your body up just save a few bucks. If you really cant afford a good mount, find someone you can pay in beer/weed/karma to help you.

appreciate the thoughts guys, but I got it anyway. All I had to do was tap out the plugs.+K anyway

Its going to cost in the range of $25 for a remount. Not $80. Thats the price of an original mount if you didnt buy the skis from the shop most likely.

Yeah I got some Punx for a really good deal and not from the shop, so they wanted 80 for a remount. not to mention theyre the only shop for 50 miles so they can basically charge whatever they want

Yeah they have the monopoly in the area unfortunately. Still its not worth saving the $80 to mount it yourself. Think of every potential thing that you could accidentally mess up. I know how you feel, but just spend the money

so did you literally just drill & tap out the plugs for the same size of binding screw or did you do it for a mm smaller than the screw?
if you did it for the same size you're not going to have the best grip of the screw to the core even if you managed to tap it perfectly the same as the thread for the previous hole as there will be give in the old glue you've dislodged.
If you did it for a mm smaller you're still going to have the same problem that there will still be old weakly bonded glue holding your screw to the core.
I would have said just to leave the plugs in and re-drill 1cm back from the old mount as either way you did it you're going to likely rip out the bindings eventually.
what was wrong with the old bindings, and how did you manage to macgyver them into being magically fixed?

If your just putting the bindings back into the original holes. Pour some wood glue in there and screw them tight. Also, look into these metal plugs called quiver killers. They could make it really easy.

The brake assembly (we'll just call it that) came apart, and I figured out how to put them back together. also the brakes got bent so I had to bend them back. Im only going to be doing urban and stff on them a couple times a year so if they rip out, not a big deal. and I was able to get the whole plug the used out and then gled them back in. It's obviously not a permanent fix, I just want a pair of beater skis without paying more money

If you remount with inserts (like binding freedom) than you can redrill the holes larger and tap them out. Not to mention that you could remove the binders afterwards.
