Hey I was wondering about snowflex. Im going to liberty this week and was worried it would be like snowflex which was terrible. Im a snowboarder and msnow was really bad for snowboarders but skiiers did alright on msnow. Is snowflex the same way? Anybody snowboard and been there?
I know its a ski site but I know there are a few snowboarders here LOL
As a uk rider i know plenty about dryslopes. I have plenty of friends who snowboard on snowflex and once you get over the fact its alot harder to get an edge its not that hard to do. On a well looked after slope and on a good day (its best just after its rained) its really not that hard or different once you get used to it. As you dont have much in the way of edge it really improves your snow riding as it forces you to land alot cleaner or you slide out. I would reccomend finding the lowest temp/hardest wax you can get or it will destroy your bases.
shameless use of a picture of myself but you can see them on the left of this picture
I was trying to find a video of the race captain from the uni snowsports club caning its down them but sadly couldnt.
@The Clap i dont know how well liberty snowflex is maintained but if there is any loose sheets of snowflex its likely that its going to catch and rip your stuff eventually, but its unlikely one or two sessions will cause any damage to your gear. its really just depends how much you fall over.so if you're prone to falling over i wouldn't wear your brand new saga suit or whatever you wear (of course, as the best skiier on my dryslope mountain...i dont have problems with rips)
This, it is pretty soft as it has a layer of padding beneath it Just make sure you don't have exposed skin and you'll be fine.
Don't expect to be carving it up, but it is adequate to carve a little to speed check into the Jump and the rail setups they have.
With the sprinklers it is a bit like skiing in the rain, so if your boots leak, I would recommend at least a 2nd pair of socks lol, but I was fine in snowpants and a tall tee (with a longsleeve shirt under)
