Its good that you have an opinion, and I'm not trying to opinion bash you, but people can do whatever the they want and ski whatever way they want to. And if someones style is "dancing" on rails, then you can fuck off and let them do whatever they want.

my plan for this winter is to physically enforce my stance on glorified rollerblading by setting up switchup traps and personally supervising all rails in the park at all times.

So no I will not let people do switchups any longer!

While I agree with this thread's philosophy, I don't think anyone is in a position to suggest, let alone dictate, how others ski.

I respect people's right to do as many k-feds as they please, I just have to look the other way to avoid feeling nauseous. But, I do like variations on these beat-to-death tricks. For instance nollying the front-swap or 2 out of a k-fed, pressing before/after a swap, nollying a pretz out, tapping while swapping, etc.

And I also like original lines: just flowing through a park/rhythm section or whatever and gapping certain features, linking trannys, incorporating butters into landings/takeoffs and the like.. Swurv.

Looks good to me.

What my main point is, is that I would like to see more flow in park skiing and especially rail skiing. Switchup pretzel switchup pretzel 270 out yadda yadda just doesnt flow all that well.

or better yet stop giving a shit about what people want to do on a pair of skis?? if you dont like an edit, dont watch it. as long as its stylish does it really matter what they're doing? proof that "glorified roller blading" can still be sick, Joakim Rignell's trip front up back two out in 100 000 by eDoggo clothing.

You can't say switchups or rail dancing have been a norm in skiing, because that's changing. Everything changes. The only constants in skiing are self-expression and fun/stoke. If you're managing to do/have both of those things then fuck what anyone else thinks because you're out there doing you.

People shouldn't ski in a way that pleases anybody else. Skiing is inherently selfish in that you do it for you. You do what feels good, and what's magical about skiing is that by some miracle of snow, all these selfish people doing it for themselves come together and somehow manage to raise stoke to incredible highs.

I'm sorry for calling you a dick. But I'm just saying that I'm going to do what I want, and if you don't like it, then I don't care. That individualism was how freeskiing was developed in the first place.

Note: you might say that since "everyone" is "rail dancing" it is no longer individualism...but you have no perspective on their view of skiing and the fact that they themselves are doing something that increases their stoke is individual in and of itself.

Do you see what I'm getting at here?

The problem is that people just hack away at rails. They go in really slow and see how many swaps they can do. I dont mine a bit of spinning on the rail but some people dont even pretzel anymore they just go the same way!!!!

i meant i prefer style over super technical tricks. Skiing is a lot more fun when you relax for a little and have some fun just messing around. Straight training is fun too and looks sick, but in my opinion, some clean style beats up 2 on continuing flailing armed 3 swap to continuing 630 out. The point of skiing is to impress people? I dont know about you but I will do whatever trick seems like the most fun at the time. Spread eagles dont impress the general public by the way.
