What do you guys use for filming?

hey I'm wondering what you guys use for filming skiing/artistic views. what stabilizers do you use? what lenses (if any)? how much was your camcorder, DSLR, etc.? I am looking for a camcorder or DSLR that would be in a budget of 600 dollars. I want to film artistic views of skiing and also be a camera that I could follow someone with while skiing. I have a steady cam tripod and another steady cam. I have filmed for a long time. Kind of novice type ski movies with my buddys, but i would like to become better and more of an artistic type camera guy. Thanks guys

I got a DSLR for 500 bucks, but just because an NSer hooked me up with the deal of a lifetime :)

look at canons refurbished section a t3i with the stock lens are under 600 right now and i believe there is a $100 off anything over 500 also

eh, i got my t2i and 18-55mm lens refurbished from canon for $450. just do some looking around and youll find some deals

if only that's your budget, why not just get a gopro? i mean, they work so damn well for the price, and it's a great little camera to toy around with and get a hang of filming before you invest a bunch of money in a DSLR. plus it'll let you know if you're actually into filming, because you might pick up a camera and lose interest after a little while.

If your main use will be follow cams do this if you want a dslr you need to be able to speed money on it in the future and a bit more than 600 to start with.

I use a T3i with the kit lens and the 50 1.8 sometimes. Got the T3i with the 1.8 refurbished for $550 so I lucked out there.
