talked my parent into letting me go out to the west coast to look at school i need to make a list of schools that are like USC out there, Prefered state is cali, but im open to suggestions.  My major Im looking for is accounting.  Thanks +K to good answers

Apply to the school that has the best program for your interest. Not based on where it is.

That'd be my advice.

Disregard what houghton said, Check washington state and oregon state, im Canadian and i realize you probably woun't want to come here for school. But for anyone else looking check out UBC and UVic.

whats your stats?? like hs grades , sat scores, and ec's. its hard to say where to go we dont know what schools you would even be admissible to... i would suggest CAL, UCLA, Lewis and Clark, Whitman, Occidental, Pepperdine ( if your christian), and maybe USC. Everyone says USC but its in Socal and its pretty far from the sierra nevada mountains or any other ski resorts. all the schools that i listed are pretty hard to get accepted into unless you have decent stats. pm me if you like i applied to a bunch of cal schools when i was a hs senior

also consider where your parents can afford it or not because no state schools in the usc offer any financial aid or much, they may offer very little scholarships that are very competitive. the only colleges on the west cost that offer much financial aid is stanford and there acceptance rate is <5 %. whitman, lewis and clark and occidental are liberal arts college, they dont offer accounting but you can still be an accountant without studying accounting as an undergrad major, all you ahve to do is take the CPA if you want to work in the usa or the CA test in canada. you can major in economics for example and still meet the requirements to sit both tests. but also keep in mind that financial aid is very very limited on the west coast if you cant afford the cost of tuition. check out UBC

Don't go to college just for skiing. .

CU Boulder or Denver is where you'd go for something inbetween, if you are legit smart can get into a significantly better school than those please forget about skiing and go winter break/spring break and maybe 1 or 2 weekends.

Go to one of the big time Cali schools if you can get in. USC is good shit. But everyone who goes there ends up staying and getting a masters from there so be warned you'll be in LA for 6-7 years minimum.

If your not as smart Oregon and Washington schools are solid (OSU, Oregon, UW, WSU fuck the small colleges.)

Nevada (Reno) is a great school and 45 minutes from the mountians... great school if you're going to stay out west and as good as basically everything not named Stanford/Cal/USC near it. But you won't get much of an alumni base back east with it.

And when you go to school far away, you do want to go to a school that everyone will have heard of. National reputations are good and its good to know you'll know fellow alums and stuff in all the major cities across the country after college.

Rich people love to spend/waste their money on their kids education. Its the only thing people with wealth categorically throw down on. OP might not be a billionaire but since his parents aren't forcing him to go to a state school money probably isn't the primary issue. If he grew up in a nice town and they saved $ by sending him to public school paying for 4 years of a private university probably isn't that big a deal. Lots of parents want to spend money on their kids college.

Just don't waste their money on some shitty fucking "college" noone has ever heard of which costs the same 50k a year USC would.

I know your parents may have a lot of money and not care, but out of state tuition is so expensive, so unless you got scholarship, you really should go to a school in your own state-- just my own opinion.

UCLA and check out the Claremont schools, very ski friendly and good academics. Claremont-McKenna is a top Business school.

Claremont McKenna does not have a business school? The closest major to business they have is econ and a Master's program in finance...

I meant econ/finance.

Cal-Berkeley and UC Riverside are the only UCs that offer Undergrad business degrees.
