I dont even know where to start, but there is a big difference between a commission and non commission. While Sgt is technically a lower rank than an officer cadet, the Sgt is paid more , respected more and knows more.
If you joined in HS, your pay would transfer over...so when you commissioned from an NCO to an officer cadet, you keep your pay scale ...so you actually get paid more.
The knowledge you gain as an NCO is invaluable to life as an officer, officers who were NCO are paid more (due to pay scales) and respected more (generally) plus, officer training is a breeze after an NCO leadership course.
If you think the military is for you, I would say join as early as possible. My brother will be retired with a full pension before he is 50 and have several transferable skills.
