Doesn't sound like it.
I actually love war movies when they're well crafted dramas rather than hundreds of hollywood and patriotic clichés all rolled into one.

You must not realize that they aren't Hollywood actors, their fucking job is more badass than anything, I like the movie a lot. What war movies do you like then? I wanna hear this.
Mine are : Saving Private Ryan, The Hurt Locker, and I guess the Green Zone is pretty good. oh and Black Hawk Down, probably leaving a few out but whatever.

I am fully aware of that. Why they cast actual solders rather than using their input to write a script that employs professional actors, I do not understand.
The first two movies you mentioned I like. Haven't seen Green Zone. Hated Black Hawk Down, though in all fairness I was little when I watched it meaning I was probably too stupid to grasp it. I also love Thin Red Line, the Band of Brothers series, Apocalypse Now, to name a few...

I enjoyed it purely for how it was made. Really intrigued me and made me want to watch it.

I think you are looking to deeply into this movie, it wasn't supposed to be an academy award winning film. It was supposed to show the shit seals do and how they treat each other as people. That's about it.

I think they did used the SEALs because the film is a tribute to fallen soldiers. If you liked band of brothers, definitely get into the pacific if you haven't already.

You are the definition of the 12 year old problem that Bishop is talking about.

The goal was to make an incredibly authentic film about operational life on a SEAL team.
Usually actors in military films go through 2 weeks of boot camp-esque training, and then they sort of make up the action as they go with the help of a few former military consultants. A militarily uneducated viewer won’t necessarily notice all the things that aren’t correct, but a major goal with Act of Valor was to put a great emphasis on realism - to tell the story as authentically as possible.

I was on a plane ride to London and within the first 5 minutes of the movie I decided that I would rather watch Fantastic Mr. Fox for the 3rd time.
