Firstly, go to M+A. If you ask Ski Gabber on something camera related, the majority of NS is just going to tell you T2i/T3i or a GoPro and what not. Those are not necessarily the answer.
Ask yourself questions like "What will I use this camera for YEAR-ROUND?", "What is my budget?", "What prior equipment do I have to utilize (memory cards, tripods, lenses, etc.)?", and "Am I looking to take this to a level above just filming my friends and making the occasional edit?" These are all crucial to what you eventually will end up purchasing.
Answering your question though, MY suggestion for a camera fitting your description would be the Panasonic TM700/TM900. It's one of their top of the line consumer video cameras, spits out amazing quality, and quite frankly a good portion of the kids who just went out and purchased T2i's would be extremely better off with this. You don't have to worry about buying extra lenses, focal lengths, and a full camcorder setup is around 500-800 dollars cheaper than a DSLR setup.
Get educated on the topic and make your decision. Just because the NS searchbar is a piece of shit, doesn't mean that Google can't find an answer for you as well.
look at my threads, by my Panasonic sd100, for 365$ obo and its yours, good luck with a dslr if you dont know what youre doing and have 1000$+ to spend, a great step-up from a gopro if you ask me...i need to pay student loans so I'm selling it super cheep
