Boot moves in binding toe piece?...

So I have SPK boots that aren't worn out on the bases and px12 jibs that were mounted by a trusted shop, but there seems to be some play in the toe piece. If I lift my ski off the ground and then twist below the knees, you can see a small lateral movement of the boot in the toe piece. Is this just the shape of how the boot fits imperfectly in the binding, or can I do something about this? Cranking up the din is not the answer.

You might want to get the forward pressure checked. Normally this happens because the toe of the boot is worn out or the forward pressure is off.

Hard to tell you anything useful without seeing your setup. Did the shop use your boots to mount? Did they confirm the boots were not worn? Is the forward pressure set correctly? Are the bindings new or used?

Overall if you are worried take them back to the shop and ask, they will be able to give you the best advice as they can look at the boot in the binding.

The bindings were new when they mounted. The boots are not worn (they look like new and I take care of my gear). The shop used the boot when mounting. I don't think forward pressure is the issue (I checked it myself as a confirmatory measure). I would take it to the shop but I don't live there anymore. I'll take it to another shop here and see what they say. Just wanted to know if it was somehow common that px style toe pieces didnt match up with spk's.

No its not a common problem, I have used Px and SPK's before. The px never gives a great hold but it should not have alot of movement.

Your best bet will be to take them to any decent shop and get them to take a look for you.

I had this problem and it turned out to be forward pressure. Just take it to any shop and they should be able to sort it out. I'd get it done soon though cos when mine were bad I grabbed mute and pulled my own ski off mid-air. That persuaded me to spend the little bit of money to sort it.

I had this problem last year, took my stuff to the shop and they said it was a forward pressure issue and fixed it for free in 2 min or less.

go to a decent local shop, or even the rental department at your hill, and the techs there will be able to sort it out. If it's a forward pressure fix, they ought to fix it for free. Don't pay for that fix unless you have no other option.

Not 100% sure if px bindings have adjustable wing width/height? Know that can be an issue on salomons causing wiggly toes. Someone confirm please!

Nah, I'm pretty sure the toe piece isn't adjustable.
