Rockered park skis?

I searchbarred and found nothing very useful.

I'm thinking of getting the APO hutch skis this year (a softer version of the sammy pro with tip and tail rocker)

any thoughts?

anyone ride rockered park skis that would care to provide some insight?

You're just in time! Check out ARTificial Nurtures. They're a rockered, symmetrical park ski and best of all, they go on sale here in just a week or so! I'm picking up a pair. They're a great option to look into.

in park you would probably want camber as opposed to rocker so you get a lot of pop, but I've taken the volkl bridge, which is tip to tail rocker and had a blast. I think rocker in a park ski is a great idea. I'm gonna buy the volkl kink this year, it's tip and tail rocker with camber under foot. I'd look into that, volkl also makes the step, a little narrower and softer version of the kink.

. Got some for this season! Nothing but good reviews, has been proclaimed as the best rocked park ski of all time (rocker/camber/rocker), bombproof construction, low swing weight, playful yet sturdy, awesome, orgasmic. You should consider these if you can afford them

I've been riding rockered park skis for the past few season, and I'm hooked. If it's the right construction (like the FR - rocker tip/tail, camber underfoot) you can carve then very well or just roll from edge to edge with less catch. Rocker in the park allows you to have a stiffer ski underfoot and still do butters. There's less catch on presses and switch ups/surface switch ups on rails. I haven't ridden APOs (much like almost everyone else since they're brand new), so I can't really tell you how well they'll ski, but I can tell you that without a doubt the FR is one of the best park skis on the market (in not the best) and I would highly consider it if you're looking into rockered park skis.

I just got a pair of Filthy Riches (rocker/camber/rocker) after hearing they are some of the best performing park skis out there considering their bulletproof build and playfulness,

haven't used them yet but there is nothing but praise for them, a least check them out and for a bonus they have killer designs on them.

but do you have any experience with the ski?

how does it ride? does it wash out? etc...

this thread is for determining the benefits of rocker in a park ski.

easier to butter, easier to surface swap, easier to shuffle sideways landings, easier to ollie over things, harder to catch an edge on landing, or a tip on takeoff switch.

ive had experience with these 2 rockered park skis

179cm salomon 2012 , lightweight, super flexy rockered skis, i had them mounted at dead center, they would washout on jumps they had some pop, but they are the most fun ive had on skis. butters for days

178cm moment vice. lightweight, nice stiff flex, mounted at center, really nimble and snappy, whip em around on spins, really fun, but the durability could be better. ripped out a ton of edge in like a month.same with the 2012 they could have better durability.

they are fun but i think cambered skis are better in the park.

all this sounds good to me!

my current park skis are stiff and cambered ar5s. I cant wait to ride some soft rockered sticks like the Hutch.

rode them as a park ski all last year, lots of fun, very playful

only negative is that they are not he best in icy / hard conditions. its hard to control a ski with taht much rocker on ice. also for sending huge jumps you gotta come down rperfect, right over the bolts. if you are even slighly backseat or forward, you will wash out.

yeah i know.

though maybe thats a good thing. if you land backseat on jumps and ride out, it causes more shinbang than washing out and falling.

it could also force me to land absolutely centered every time.

All i ride are rockered park skis. So much more playful, easier on landings, Popping is way more forgiving. No reason no to get them. Super fun, and you can get radical in deeper areas too!

I like my halo's between -.5 and -1.5 cm. I have Schizo's though so I have changed mine a few times.

i am riding the liberty antigens right now, their a rocker ski and i do like them. they are early rise in the tip/tail. In my option its much easier to get pop and do all around park features with a camber though. When your riding on these you are very uncontrollable on ice, and some harder snow also. i think if your looking for a good park ski go with camber.

I ended up buying a kink this year. Tip and tail rocker, rode it this past Tuesday, sooooo freakin fun. A rockered park ski makes skiing easier, I feel like an all camber ski is a lot more work so I can last longer and ski the park all day if I wanted. My friend skiied his ar7 in the morning and then skiied a pair of kinks (left to the shop by our rep) and said the kink was so easy to ski and still had that volkl pop in it. Really good stuff, I wouldn't hesitate about riding a rockered ski in the park.

I refuse to ride anything with camber. Don't worry about washing out, get a longer size than you normally would and you'll be fine.

I ride the 2011 k2 revivals and I love them, they are the first rockered ski I've owned and I'll never go back to camber. They are super buttery which is nice for when you over/under rotate you can butter out of a sketchy landing. I love the rocker so much I sold my old gotamas and bought a pair of the hellbents this year for pow days.
