 This is pretty Awesome. I was told two relevant facts yesterday at the dispensary though about amendment 64.  The first is that people without medical cards cant just go buy weed at the dispensary now, your going to have to wait up to a year supposivly? And ANYONE 21 older can legally reap the benifits of this, not just colorado residents.

That's so fucked that people are packing up and moving out there. They should make a law against that. How irresponsible to move your family 6 states away just because you want to be able to do drugs? I mean I have no problem with smoking weed, but that's crossing the line at least IMO. Sounds like something some college kids would do, shocked that families are doing it as well.

as someone who lives in Illinois and has been going to Colorado every year of my life since 3, and plans on moving there after I graduate.... I reallllyyy hope this doesn't spoil the state in anyway. keeping high hopes. congrats rado, you guys did it

what do you think employers will do in terms of drug testing? i plan on transferring to a different section of my current employer after graduation which is in boulder. will employers still test?

I kno marijuana is legal in Amsterdam, but is it legal anywhere else in the world? Big step by Colorado and Washington

I guess I kinda misspoke, my only wish is that colorado stays the same. I already feel like when I tell people of my plan to move to colorado after I graduate theyll assume its because of cannabis. When actually my single biggest wish my whole life has been moving out west to rado haha I guess im just being a hipster about colorado and dont want everyone to start being all crazy about it. I dunno. We will see soon enough

So, maybe a stupid question, since I didn't even know this was going to happen, but just how legal will it be? Are there going to be marijuana bars popping up where you can go and smoke different weed for a price like hookah bars? Or is it just like...you can smoke in your home and not worry about getting busted with drugs in your pocket when you get pulled over for speeding a week down the road?

realistically though i dont want it to be legalized, at least not in canada. Maybe its different for you guys in the states, but i know here if you go to a vancouver dispensary your going to be paying over 280 ounce for weed that isnt really all that amazing. Not bad by any means, but theres still much better out there. Where as i can call up my buddie and get an o for 175 of some absolutely devastating weed. Waiting around for drug dealers can be infuriating, but thats about the only real negative i can think of for it being illegal at the moment...although we could do without this new omnibus bill.

we already kind of have those in vancouver and its not even legal yet haha. pay 5 bucks and you can rent a volcano to smoke at the amsterdam cafe, they dont sell weed though, but you can smoke in some dispensaries. Id imagine for CO itll essentially be more dispensaries opening, and that you can smoke in them. Could you smoke in the dispensaries before the bill passed?

150-200s pretty standard across canada i would say. At least it is on either coast, ive only lived in nova scotia and BC. Youll see the occasional $250 ounce, but thats normally just because your getting ripped off. 175 is a good deal for the weed im getting, but my dealer buys direct from a grower though. Id probably be paying 200 for an o of the same weed from someone else.

Think about it like this, weed=alcohol. There's going to dispensaries much like liquor stores and it will probably still be frowned upon to smoke weed in public just like drinking. Driving while stoned is still illegal but you won't get in any trouble if you have under an O on you

reporting from central ontario, prices are pretty similar here.

150-200 bucks an ounce is pretty regular, if you know the right person at least. never even heard of anyone paying 250 for an ounce, theres barely any room to profit on that. a friend of mine has a good set up, he buys $150 ounces, sells 3 quarters off at $50 each and smokes the last quad free. he gets good indoor stuff from the grower in hamilton and has no problem selling it here, an hour away.

oh, so you can have a qp or whatever sitting at your house? that's really going to make it interesting.

lets say you have kids and smoke a couple times a week. cops come in for whatever reason, maybe you're having too large of a bonfire or something. you have your ounce sitting with the bottles of booze in the nice cabinet thing in your dining room. currently, they'd bust you w a big ass charge and say hey, that's in reach of the kids. wonder if they'll still be able to do that or something similar. same goes for if you have plants. they certainly don't bust guys brewing beer in their basement.

Right, I get that. However, bars =/= liquor stores. I was wondering if there were going to be new "weed bars" that start popping up and if it would be legal to smoke in these establishments like regular bar bars.
