So I've always like COD more than halo, but this halo looks sick, and something tell me the new call of duty aint gonna be all that, so what do y'all think, should i buy Halo 4 or hold out till Black ops 2?

yep, coming next week. they started with the playlists here now to get people into different settings before throwing the more technical playlists. I think the are releasing next week:

-Team SWAT
-Team Snipers
- 2v2

not sure about 2v2 but it has been rumoured. Also they are doing a major update on the forge world because it has many more limitations that halo has had before.

So played it, and was a little bit dissapointed. Like so many little changes, but those little changes add up to it just not feeling like halo. Grunts couldn't speak English, can't duel wield, plasma rifle is an actual rifle. Like the vehicles felt the same which was nice, but that Mantis mech was just bullshit.

On top of that like little story issues...... like I know they took a lot from the books but there are still so many questions. Is the flood still alive? Why are the covnent helping the Didiact? If 117 was so influential in stopping the war..... Why don't the covnent recognise him? The music wasn't even close to being similar ( music was such a huge part of the first series).

Plus I always found that the series always had a bit of mystery, or something to discover. I just never felt that in this game. Felt way more COD...... And less halo. It's the little things that make a franchise a franchise and they just threw so many things away. It feels like when you come back to the house that you were raised in, but someone else is living there. Like things are similar...... but just the little things are different and it feels wrong somehow.

They are going to add a ranked system with levels much like halo 3. I hear it will come out near January, but I Havnt looked into it too much

just got halo today, pretty fun. All I did was play swat though since that was my game back in the day, brought back a lot of memories. Noticed that the old ranking system is MUCH needed though, I'm sure they will do it right.

Where the hell is team snipers? And none of that sniper/pistol stuff, or sniper/shotty. I mean the human sniper rifle and the covenant beam rifle only, start with both a la halo 2. No grenades either.

I work at best buy, and last night the managers let us play the game offline (black ops 2) It feels exactly like the others, with the killstreaks being HORRIBELY overpowered (drone). Also Campaign hasnt changed, and graphics are essentially still at World at War level. Its essentially a clone of Black Ops 1.

I would suggest picking up Halo 4. People bitching about how quick they die just arent the best at the game, and get upset. The sprint system implemented is perfect, the power weapon system is awesome, and all in all, a great game.

None of us who complained said not to buy it. We support Halo, and by this statement I can tell you don't know much about the Halo franchise. I can get a double kill, or triple kill, but most of the time I get that I won't be walking away from it because some guy who insta-spawned and who I just killed pops me in the head with his 10 trigger pulls off the BR. I have lead in kills most of the games I play, and there are some where I get owned. Simply put Halo 4 has a lot more LUCK involved than any before it. Skill is not rewarded, simple as that.

Halo used to be about controlling weapon spawn points, killing the opposing team and then regrouping for the next onslaught. This time around its mayhem and a lot of kills are just pointing and shooting into the chaos hoping for a kill (a la COD). Once again I really like the game it is in my top 3 halo games.
Halo 4 is the best campaign and multiplayer is cool, but lacking in some aspects.

Your right, I know nothing about the Halo series. Oh, wait.. I sat there and watched steve jobs announce Halo for Mac computers before it was bought out by Windows.

Ive yet to just point and shoot into a crowd, because it just doesn't really work out. And yes, I as well have been leading the scoreboards. Saying its like COD is idiotic. Unless your telling me that the killstreaks are customizable, I can call in orbital strikes, and get pelican gunner.

It may be chaotic during Big team games, but regular slayer feels like a classic. Skill is still rewarded, me headshotting with a DMR is racking up a lot more points than someone just spraying with an assualt rifle.

1.) You being there has nothing to do with following the core values of the franchise.

2.) I mentioned an aspect similar to COD, I didn't say the whole game was.

3.) Explain more on your last point because I don't really get what you're saying. I understand that one kill is worth 15 versus the AR kill being worth 10. But you can't criticize people for that because the AR kills close range. Yet that argument is invalid because you can easily get more points for everything else like revenge kills, distraction, assists are generous in this game, the list goes on. "Everyone is a winner" in this Halo.

4.) Take a look at everyone's K/D spread, including your own. It's odd for an FPS when the K/D does not matter at all. The team leader could have a -10 K/D.

5.) This is a discussion, not hating on you just to be clear on my part. These are glaring truths that I think you will see the more you play.

Im essentially saying that by aiming, I get more kills than the morons who treat it like CoD and just spray. Not actually going into the actual point system, but skill in this game is rewarded.

This game definitely plays better if you work as a team, definitely has a skill aspect, and about the only similarity to CoD is the implemented sprint. I like halo way more than CoD. And true, Halo 2 online was superior in my opinion, this is still a great game.

I will agree with this part of your statement. Concentrating 2 DMR/BR's on one guy is instant death. Lone wolf doesn't pan out too much anymore. Plus the friendly fire mechanisms makes it even more useful to go as a unit.

There is no way in hell Halo 4 can be worse than Blops2 i'll just put that out there...went to the midnight release with my buddy last night (he wanted to purchase not me) just tagging along...we got there early enough to demo it before buying it...yeah we played and my buddy turned to the employee and asked, "are we playing the first black ops?" and the guy said with some shocked expression "NO way man this is black ops 2" he dropped the controller and walked out and we went home.....it is literally the same recycled game.

Yes we may be missing some of the old aspects of Halo, but atleast they changed it up and tried some new ideas with in the game...not just cramming the same game with new title down our throats.

Yes, but they changed it up in a manner that has alienated all the core players (myself) who stuck with the franchise during all the COD hoopla. Change is good, but it can also be bad. Reach was really different, but I ended up liking it because it retained the elements and skill base from other Halo games. Honestly I love the Halo franchise, but if something doesn't change the online community for this game will die out quickly.

They screwed the veteran players over just to bring in some COD fanboys, which I don't care to play with anyways.

Swat in Halo 4 is way too fucking easy. First game I played my friend and I got the first 10 kills with two killtaculars. Then we kept playing and were consistently getting over kills. I enjoy Reach swat way more. I'm looking forward for Halo 4 snipers though.

There are definitely some things that can be improved upon, but overall I'm really diggin' it. If 343i will listen to the community, they can make this one of best Halos.

- MM needs a different ranking/xp system for competitive play.
- Infinity and Classic variants for gametypes.
Infinity = Ordinance, AA, insta-respawn.
Classic = Weapon spawns, 3 second respawn, no kill cam.
- Lovin SWAT, but I can't tell if DMR auto-aim is boosting my ego.
- UNSC Gun noises are fucking whack.

I agree with most everyone on here that it is a great game but it definitely will take some getting used to. I've played probably 2 hours of online and beat the campaign and like I said I do like it but its a very different game. I think change is good but i think they may have changed a little to much. Like someone else said there definitely needs to be a classic game type because the thing that has always been a huge difference between HALO and Call of Duty it that everyone starts the game on level ground, no unlocks at higher levels and that the game is basically about who controls the power weapons. now you can call in a shotgun or sniper, uncontested by anyone else.
my next deal is with the limited offline options. I normally wouldn't care but the internet at my school blows D and doesn't work very often so now that i've beaten the campaign on legendary, there is nothing to do when the internet isn't working.
Overall I really like the game, i just think they changed it a little too much

Just played it for a couple hours. IMO it's wayyy too much like the last one (Reach). They tried way too hard to be like Call of Duty with their classes and shit. If you get ahold of a power weapon it's game over. I'm a HUGE fan of Halo 2 and 3. I feel like every game since then has really sucked comparatively. Playing halo 4, it feels a bit more like original halos, but still isn't there. I don't think it ever will be. Halo 2 and 3 were so simple yet played so well that they had such a high replay value. I'm already sick of halo 4 after 5 hours of play. I played all gametypes and still feel this way. 6/10 for me.

Seriously. All of these extra bonus points for doing bullshit stuff is so annoying. If you don't get the kill you don't deserve the points. Period. I do think the assassination moves are pretty sick.. That's the highlight for me.
