who here got it? how is it? how does it compare to other halos?

looking to pick this up next couple days looking to get some opinions first because the last couple halo's werent that good

I was just about to make a Halo 4 thread haha. I picked the game up at midnight played all night and I love it. It is more fast pace than all the other halo games and the maps the fucking sick. I couldn't be any happier with the game!

ah man great to hear def going to pick thsi up. Halo's main problem the past few games has been a lack of good maps id say since halo 2. Glad to hear this can't wait to play

I've only played for about 2 hours so far and I'm not gonna lie I'm a little disappointed. I was worried when it was a new company making it and that they were going to change the game to much and I feel like that's exactly what happened. I really liked the separation and differences between halo and call of duty and I feel like halo 4 brought the two together. I'll still play the hell out of in tho

I went to GameStop last night in search of a copy of Halo 3. There was a lineup around the block. Upon asking what all the hubub was about, a bunch of geeks scoffed at me.

I never found a copy of Halo 3.

the best campaign has to be the first one... but of the new ones reach for sure. you can do firefight which is fun as hell

Ive played for about an hour so far

like:
plasma pistol is more like an actual pistol
beam rifle
instantly pick up grenades after throwing one
can aim assault rifle better for initial shot/assault rifle is easier to control
vehicle weapons/turbo seem to last longer (turrets/ghost)

not used to yet:
'visor vision' on the edges of the screen
pistol
sword
cant figure out where the sprint meter is if there is one

From what I've watched it looks pretty good. I'm thinking about picking it up. I'm just hoping it isn't to much like COD cause I've seen the maps, and they are starting to get the design behind other COD maps I have seen. I will like the kill cam though, I've always wanted that in Halo.

I didnt like halo 3 because i found it to be slow paced. action was minimal.

original Halo 1 sounds are back. i guess its a pretty god time if you are baked out of your tree. but i wouldn't know i have yet to lay it's just what i've heard

its more of halo 3 no real change, a basic shooter
ending was hugely disappointing, if people payed attention to characterisation, no one would buy a halo 5

You are an absolute scrub.The campaign was amazing, it's the first in the new Reclaimer Trilogy so obviously this plot-line is not gonna be resolved until halo 6.
The character development was great, really really loved what 343 did with the dynamic between Chief and Cortana,

Just played the last level. If anyone here has beat it, what did you think of the end?? I am a little hung up with whether I loved the ending or not. Either way, campaign is fucking badass.

The campaign is amazing and so much fun. But I can't defend multiplayer anymore. It is the biggest noobfest in the world. You die so fast it's ridiculous. The weapon spawns and their locations are abundant. Power weapons are too powerful to be that common. It's just not the best. Pretty bummed out on it. It's just people spamming the BR and poaching power weapons when they drop.

Play other game modes besides team deathmatch. Granted, I've never really played a Halo game before, but im having a ton of fun with it so far and there are some cool/fun game modes other than slayer.

They will fix weapon spawns trust me. They always end up tweaking over powered weapons about 3 months after release.

Beat the campaign on legendary two days ago, pretty epic at least for me being a halo fanboy. Multiplayer is pretty good, can't wait until the legit ranking system goes live

The guns are generally more powerful in H4 than previous Halos. IE it doesn't take an assault rifle a clip and a half to kill someone -- more like half a clip. Also they finally implemented COD style sprinting; and not only can you sprint...Chief fucking hustles!!

I like it a lot. The campaign is still more like halo 3 in terms of the amount of vehicles and side objectives that get thrown at you. Halo 1 and 2 were just levels you had to get to the end of which I kind of like. Multiplayer is also great. Sprint feels like part of the game and not a power-up like reach. also, its much faster than reach and the bloom actually works. I could see it turning into a very competitive game with some tweaking of the settings.

Id say 3rd best campaign of the series (but still pretty fun), and a very solid multiplayer so far.
