"movie recording has stopped automatically"

newb question, I'm aware.

BUT

My t2i has been giving me this message and (obviously) stopping shooting. I've looked it up and all I can find is that it could be due to 2 things- slow SD card and formatting the card. I have class 10 FujiFilm cards, so that should not be the problem. As far as formatting, I always format cards before using so I don't see why this is happening. HOW DO I FIX THIS.

Feel no shame, this is exactly what should be done in this type of situation. There are much more worthwhile and complicated questions that can be asked of M&A and nobody benefits from this clutter.

thanks man, I'm glad you read the thread and saw that I have already looked it up.

But yeah, I forgot to mention, I have tried low-level formatting and it still happens. I'm starting to worry that my cards are counterfeit...

If you have magic lantern, I noticed a glitch with this last year where whenever I would turn on the camera and press record before the message went away that said, "magic lantern is loading..." I would get the error message after about 10 seconds of recording.

You're right, I must've glossed over that part because I don't remember reading it, so I'm sorry BUT I highly doubt anything anyone will tell you on here can be that much different than what you could find on the rest of the internet. The question has been asked before. The answer exists.

The fact that the T2i is so prevalent these days should be enough to reason this.

I had the exact same problem with my 60D. What I did to fix this was to get a faster SD card. I got a sandisk extreme pro, I know thats probably overkill, but I wanted to make sure it worked.
