Who's Economic Plan Will Actually Work?

First things first, sorry about another political thread! I feel this one is important though because I want to keep it solely based on the issue of economy. Arguing is permitted and even encouraged to bring out the better answer.

My question is: Who has the better economic plan? Don't just say a name. I need facts. I always hear about how Romney's tax plan will not work, but I want to hear how Obama's will/will not work. This is NSG so solid answers may be a little hard to come by, but it is what it is.

Obama's hasn't worked TOO well over the past 4 years and nobody knows what Romney's exact plan is so stalemate?

Well, neither plan is great, but Obama's plan is at least a plan. Romney's plan is a blank piece of paper that he's promised to fill out later.

Who's economic plan will work the best? Mine.

My opinion is that a plan is barely gonna do anything especially in four years even eight. We need wealthy people to help out more as well as the Political leaders to say hey I don't this salary that our taxes payers are paying me. I make millions upon millions on other things, may it be oil, stock market or self made businesses.

Fact of the matter is that business hire when they need to, not because someone else is president, or because of less regulation. The middle class is often the driver of economic progress and the last thing anyone would want to do is raise their taxes. The Obama plan of keeping the "bush era" tax cuts in place for those below $250k is a good call. Either way we're going to need someone to take action before 12/31/13 or taxes go up for everyone. At the same time, we need to keep federal spending where it is now, especially in defense.

I'll take that over a plan we know little about (other than most people saying it isn't possible) and additional defense spending on ships the Navy never asked for that we don't even need.

Who knows. Obama really didn't have one and always made fun of Romney's black magic "getting ride of lopeholes and shit" and then all of sudden Obama adapted it. Is it your first time voting? Serious question/not being a douche

The best plan will be the one that darastically thins out government and gets rid of all the things we don't absolutely need, which Obama doesn't plan on doing. trying to enlarge government and lower taxes in the lower and middle class puts a lot of burden on the upper class. You can preach all you want about how the rich should pich in more. They are paying enough now, no need to lower taxes for them, but they shouldn't be paying to run the country. Government needs to stop wasting tax payers dollars. Obamas 1% thing is a total lie, it's more like top 15%. I know families who have an income of around 150k who's taxes rose quite a bit. To say a family that makes 150k is well off in this day and age is not true. Romneys plan isn't the greatest either, it may take longer than 4 years to properly work and even out but tax reductions across the board could only work with a large reduction of the size of the gov. and spending which he says he will do.

to the best of my knowledge for obama, more taxes + more spending. which does not seem to make sense to me if the point is to lower the debt.

Or lower tax rates for small businesses so they can boost employment. We don't need a county where everyone works for the government. That's communism

Your an idiot. Multiple members of my family make between this and up, all have seen tax hikes. Most voted for Obama in 08 partially because he claimed he would help lower their taxes, now the majority are Romney supporters.

That won't work. Companies don't hire people because they got a tax break, companies hire people because they need people to work for them, and they need people to work for them when there is a high demand for their product/service that they can't currently meet.

If companies were not hiring right now because taxes were too high but they wanted to, we would expect them to be extending workers hours. This hasn't happened, which tells us that theory isn't true.

No, they haven't. In fact they've seen their taxes go down due to the tax cuts in the stimulus bill (1/3 of it was tax cuts) and the payroll tax cut.

Taxes haven't gone up under Obama, so it is impossible for your relatives to have seen tax hikes. Period.

Anyone claiming their federal taxes have gone up is just stupid. Also, government payrolls have shrunk considerably under Obama.
